Next week is teacher appreciation week at our school.

I'm looking for some ideas for my chidren's teachers.

What have you done in the past?

Teachers..Is there anything that you can suggest?

Thanks in advance. :sunny:

Can anyone tell me if they buy for the teacher's aides? The ones in my DD class are parents of other kids in the school. They never went to school to become a teacher and there aren't any special requirements to become one. So I was wondering if I get them a present too or just her teacher?

My kids' school is doing a week's worth of different things---maybe something from their list might help?

Monday-- Flower Day (bring in a flower for the teacher)
Tuesday-- Book Day (bring a book to donate to the classroom)
Wednesday-- Sweet Day (homemade or store bought treats)
Thursday-- Relaxation Day (items like candles, incense, lotions, etc)
Friday-- Note Day (parents and/or children write a special note about why they love their teacher)

Hope that helps a little. :)

Gift cards - they are always appreciated! 5 to 10 dollars at Starbucks or even McDonalds or to the nearest grocery store. That's what I'm doing for my kids teachers.

We as a PTO do little gifts each day of the week:

Monday was pens
Tuesday a candy bag and poem
Wednesday breakfast
Thursday keychain flashlight
Friday a planning calendar

personally we give something little but thought out....this also happens to be book fair week at school so we bought a book last night for the teachers classroom (even if she didn't ask for one :teeth: ) I am probably going to get some chocolates tonight as they just started a chocolate unit.

Thank you for all of the suggestions.

Keeo em' coming.

Maybe I'll put a basket together with all kinds of stuff for summer-coffee, movie and salon gift cards, maybe a gift card to a book store, etc.

For my DS's preschool they are asking parents to sign up to bring breakfast, snacks and lunch items every day next week. If you dont want to do that you are being asked to donate money towards 10 minute chair massages that they'll be doing at the school. On Friday they are doing prizes where the teachers can win whatever gift cards and other items parents want to donate. Since we're on a cruise next week I donated a gas gift card. Gas is so expensive these days I figured they all could use them.

We count the assistants as teachers when it comes to gifts & TA week. They are in the classroom just as much & when the teacher is out sick, they are the ones who help the sub keep the class going. I have helped in the Kindergarten class when an assistant was out & I was busy the entire time.

For PTO we are doing the following next week.
Monday - candy bars with thank you notes
Tuesday - the cafeteria manager is making her huge cinnamon rolls & we are serving them with OJ
Wednesday - flower and sausage biscuits with OJ
Thursday - cake & punch at lunch time
Friday - spa goodie bag

For youngest DS's teacher & aide I'm doing a yummy smelling candle (made locally) plus a restaurant GC for each.

For older DS, several moms are contributing together for a group gift. One mom is making a dinner entree, and the rest of us are helping to round out the meal (salad, wine, dessert, bread, etc.) It'll be delivered tomorrow afternoon so she won't have to worry about dinner plans! There will also be teacher goodies (pens, notepads, highlighters, etc.) in the basket.
