Teachers, how do you deal with it?

You could move to Colorado and join a district which has year round school. Our school has 4 tracks. 2-3 tracks are normally in session. Our DDs go to school for 9 weeks and than are off for 3 weeks. Our DDs have their break in September, December, March and June.

If my wife and I had more vacation, we could do a trip in September and in December or March.

My husband is a teacher and we usually go as soon as school gets out in June. It's not too hot yet and and not super crowded. My husband teaches at a different school than our kids, so breaks don't usually match up. Also he coaches and has practice over christmas break. I just get upset because it is sooo much more expensive when he can go. We've been wanting to take a disney cruise but it's always twice the amount when we can go.

I feel your pain about the cruise. In 14 years when I retire I guess...
DH won't want to go then :(

Sport practices would still be going on for my kids so I still couldn't go :(
except June and that's when we already go :)

I'd love to! Where do I sign up!??

DH and I are both teachers. We also have a DD who is in the HS and plays a fall, winter and spring sport. We are going to WDW next Christmas break. We have gone in the summer and once at Christmas. Oh well, that is the way it goes. I am just happy we get to go at all!!

If you are interested, here is the school district I live in.

http://www.ccsd.k12.co.us/index.htm

or the school district we were in before

http://www1.dcsdk12.org/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DCSD

The first is Cherry Creek School District which located south of Denver. The other is Douglas County which includes Castle Rock, Parker parts of the South Denver Metro area.

this only applies to elementary schools since the middle and high schools are on a traditional schedule
