I teach in the 1/2 year old classroom at a church run mother's day out program. This week we have a little boy entering our room with a severe allergy to peanuts. I am seeking some resources that myself and my co-teacher can read. Maybe even a place that lists things that contain peanuts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We will be having a conference with the child's mother this week as well so I know we will gain a lot from that as well. Thank you all for any help.

The best website on food allergies is FAAN. This is my first post so it won't let me include a url, but you can google it. My son is also severely allergic to nuts and just started preschool this week. Our rule with the teacher is that my son does not eat anything that was not provided by me and in his special snack bag. He sits at the end of the table for snack and his picture, allergies and emergency plan is posted in the classroom. All parents in the class were notified that nothing with nuts may come into the classroom and all kids wash their hands as they come in the class in the morning.

Due to a lot of peanut allergies, a lot of schools have gone peanut free. even parent's aren't allowed to let their kids bring PB&J sandwiches for fear of causing another child to react.
