So, do you all think that only catholic schools cover up molestations, etc? Or only catholics earn trust and then molest? You all are sorely naive if so. We just fired a local public school teacher who had been passed from school to school to school with no school having the guts to call them on the string of teenage girls coerced into sex with him.

Or is this just an anti catholic board? talk about haters. You are as bad as those you are calling out.

Well, Hawks4Realz is the one who brought up the whole "catholic" school thing. That is what we are all responding to.

I agree, there is bad everywhere, the catholics don't have a hold on that. You will find it in all religions and all schools.
 
This isn't a Catholic School. It is Southland Christian School.

Actually, it makes more sense that way. The private Christian schools in my experience are much more aggressive about these things than Catholic schools tend to be.

Who needs Gloria Allred? The ACLU will be all over this one. And Tiger and Jesse's hookers are old news by now. Gloria needs a new, media sensation case to be involved in to keep her name in the tabloids :lmao:

If someone steals my car I will forgive them for doing it, but I don't expect them to have no punishment for what they did.
 
Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. I brought it up because someone asked how I know that no schools will hire her. And I can tell you my school would interview her, call her last school for a reference, and then would be dismissed from the interview process.

I would imagine that for legal purposes, this supposed "Morality code" would have to be spelled out clearly somewhere, and not inherently implied.

Whether another Christian school would ever have her is moot. I'd bet she doesn't bother applying to any ever again. I sure as heck wouldn't.
 
It's all about the institution's priorities. Instead of welcoming life, they are determined to PUNISH. That's the most important thing to them. That a baby needs a mother with an income....who cares? Not their problem.

And it's a totally bogus, made-up "crime." You can just choose to change your mind about it, and then nobody gets fired, and a new life is welcomed into the community.

Probably for the best, she's not a good representative for a Christian Institution. But I wish her the best in whatever other area she decides to pursue. I don't think she's a bad person, just not a good fit for religious institutions.

The institution's primary priority is hirng people that practice Christian ideals.

If they could have proven she was guilty of fornication without resorting to using her medical information, they could most likely fire her.

But since they asked about her pregnancy and used that as the proof she was a fornicator, they can be sued due to HIPAA regulations. Especially if they told other employees and parents she was pregnant.

This will make an interesting court case.
 
She might be able to win due to HIPAA but I don't see wrongful termination here. They can fire at will unless she is a legally protected class and I don't see her situation falling under a protected class. It's a shame.

I'm all for the their school their rules,but 3 weeks before her wedding, they are firing her because she had sex 3 weeks before she made her public promise in a church? How about a little lenience here, its not like she is a ***** who was sleeping around, good grief its no wonder religion gets a bad name.

I agree but think most likely there will be a settlement with regards to the disclosure. Unless she's a glory hunter, she will probably be thrilled to bank six figures off this school.

LOl, why is it their concern whether the mother has an income? I don't know about your job but mine is only concerned with me doing what I am supposed to do, when I am supposed to do it, and following company policy. It is my responsibility to make sure i comply so that I have an income.

According to her lawyer and ABC News, she is suing based on grounds of violation of privacy, along with gender discrimination and state marriage discrimination laws.

According to the complaint, Hamilton is suing under federal gender discrimination laws, a state marriage discrimination law and for violations of her privacy.

"The school told the students and their parents why Hamilton had been fired. Disclosing that kind of personal information was a violation of her privacy," Gay said.

"There were never any complaints about her teaching. The school said she was an outstanding teacher," he added.

I wonder if she answered positively to any questions about having sex before marriage during her meeting to request maternity leave? Then they would be using her word, rather than medical info.
