Teacher fired for getting pregnant weeks before marriage

Most likely the school and the teacher will come to some type of settlement. However this teacher will never teach at a religious school again.

The other ironic thing is that the message if you are unmarried and get pregnant at one of these "Christian" schools, is this: Have an abortion to keep your job.

I think the teacher should have just played dumb, but it sounds like they were determined to make an example of her -- again, WWJD?

No I think the message is don't get pregnant before you're married. It's not hard.

And when that school calls this school for a reference, she will get throttled as a trouble maker. It wouldn't be worth it for another school to take a chance on her.

How naive. And I speak as someone who had a "Christian" school in her neighborhood after college. Hung out with some of the teachers, so I know the truth of how it plays out.

However, if they violated her privacy and thus violated the law, I hope she does not settle on that point.

I hope that both she and the media pursue the lawsuit and take a stance against a religious organization thinking they are above the law.

It is a dangerous path to go down, believing one's religious principles override the laws of our country.

Correct, the reason for termination was not pregnancy. The reason for termination was sex before marriage. That is not a medical condition.

these would be the same big guns that come out every time a child is molested by a catholic priest!! the Pope recently apologized over that!! What would Jesus have done in this situation??? Hypocrisy in the name of christianity always makes me think of Karl Marx, who said "religion is the opium of the masses".
