Tea Tree Oil

LOL...well its not that bad. And yes, alot of people really like the smell. Let me tell you, if you have a snuffy nose, put a dab under each nostril and it works wonders! I also have a friend in new jersey that swears by it for strep throat which her girls are prone too! Not that she swallows it, just dabs a little on the back of the throat with a q-tip. Even kills staph. Works better on germs and such then bleach, and is soooooo much safer! I LOVE the stuff!

My family has been using Melaleuca oil for for over ten years now. In everything from our shampoo, to an acne system, to putting it straight on burns and boosting our laundry :laundy: . As someone else explained, Melaleuca oil, is the real name for Tea Tree Oil. It works amazing on acne. My 15 year old son and 17 year old god daughter both us an acne system based on Mela. oil which runs $14.95 a month. And our goddaughter had tried it all, from doctor prescribed treatments to pro-active, with minimal success. It does also work great on dandruff, but you do not apply it directly to the scalp. I personally also like the smell of it, and have a cleaner made up of primarily mela. oil that I use to sanitize my counters, toilets, and everything in between. Best of all, it is natural and not caustic like all other cleaners you can buy. :grouphug:

Can you tell us which acne system they use?

I am also interested in how you use it in shampoo, laundry, and cleaning. :)

I have been using Tea Tree oil for about 2 years now....but I only mix a drop or two into my moisturizer. I also use a q-tip to apply it directly to any acne spots I may have. I purchase mine through Puritans Pride online. Works great!

This is interesting! Do you leave it on, or take it off after a period of time? and it doesn't bother your skin at all? I may have to try this for any stray stubborn ones that come along! :thumbsup2

I apply it at night when I wash up and leave it on. It does not irritate my skin at all. I usually apply it for several nights and the blemish (aka: pimple) does not get any bigger and eventually goes away. Much better than the Retin-a that I had been using which dried up my skin and made it look worse.

I used to use Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo as a face wash for acne. It worked great. It cleared my teenage acne up within 2 weeks and kept it clear. If Paul Mitchell still uses the formulation they used 15 years ago I would highly recommend it.
