I've heard that you can have tea at the Grand Floridian, but would like more details. How much is it? Do you have to make reservations for it, or are walk ins welcome? Is there a dress code? Thanks!

I am going for the first time in April...check out the dining reviews, Olboyshoi has a killer review of it. Menu it on the dis site as well....different pricing for everything

Make an ADR...I just booked mine the other day and they had very limited open time for the week that I am there

I would definitely recommend making a reservation. When my mom and I went during a slow time, they had a 25 minute wait for one pair of walk ins that came up behind us, which doesn't sound too bad except that the tea room isn't open but for a few hours - 2:00 to 5:00, I think.

It's yummy - if you click on the link in my sig line you can read my review from last March, and as mentioned above, Oybolshoi has one in the "Hungry are the damned" review thread from October.

HIGHLY recommend that Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. Check out the menu the above poster gave you through the All Ears Net link. It will give you a good idea of what you can expect to spend. I think for my family of 3 I assume it will be in the $60 to $80 range including tip. We schedule this for our no park day. It is a lovely way to spend some quiet time in the afternoon. It is such a lovely setting too!

But as others have mentioned I highly recommend reservations!

Make reservations........I made my yesterday for 180 days out and was given only 2:10 and 3:40 for times as the only openings for 4 people.

We absolutely loved our tea there. We had a 2:00 ADR, but the place wasn't filled. Of course this was in late January, so it might have just been a low time of year. The only downside was that I drank one and a half pots of tea on my own, so I was awake for most of the night! I felt like I was one of these guys :dance3:

My DD(26) and I made reservations the day before for a 3:00 p.m. seating. We
had the most expensive "Tea" which was only approx. $26/person. It was just
lovely. We will do this every time we go now. :goodvibes

Do you need to stay at GF in order to partake in the afternoon tea?

On the Disney Dining Review thread there is a great review with pics of the GF afternoon tea. The thread is called "Hungry are the damned." She's a great writer and takes awesome pictures. The review is on page 43. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1622180

Wow! Blueangel -- I loved your review. I had read Brenda's (Oybolshoi) already which convinced me that was something I shall plan for in the future! I had to laugh about the pate -- I have never tried it - don't want to and now I kind of know I can tell them "leave it off my plate!" since you were able to do that with the cucumber! This tea sounds like a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the review board love, SnwflkCts! And don't worry - everybody seemed more than happy to talk over different teas and substitutions for food. I think because the place is so small that they just don't get overwhelmed in the kitchen.

Enjoy!

My DD8 and I did it together after she got out of the BBB. She ordered strawberry shortcake and a decaf tea (in her own pot), I got a scone with strawberry preserves and clotted cream. I also had a pot of the Eros tea (it was yummy) The whole thing was fabulous! It was relaxing, dignified, and delicious! My DD is eager to do it again this year. I completely recommend it!

Here's my princess enjoying her shortcake!
