We had a dreadful time with TCD (23 hours delay amongst other problems) anyway about the price match - if you read the website carefully, you will see that it says "You won't find a VIRGIN flight cheaper anywhere else on the web, but if you do we'll price match" in other words they only price match where a virgin flight has been offered cheaper.

we've just came back with them and there were no problems extra leg room on the way and in a row near the back and still enough legroom to be able to sit comfortably the cabin crew were also nice .
I suppose if we had a delay and were tired and slightly moody things would have been different as when your down a bit little things seem more of a deal but i would opt for them as more spending money is what appeals to me more tan 9 hours of comfort i have 2 weeks to get over it

I also think there is a big difference between travelling 'in and out' of season. Unfortunately, we have to travel in peak season.. and at that time, all planes are full. Carriers are stretched to the limit and it is usually at these peak times when things go wrong. Hence my comments about TCD not having the back up.
