I really like Hootie and the Blowfish! That is so neat that you know him!!!
And he's sooooo nice!!!! One of the perks of my job.

I've heard some of their music but didn't realize that was him. I listen to country music and watch the videos once in a while but obviously, somehow I missed hearing that Darius Rucker was "Hootie."
Yup, Darius is/was "Hootie". He plans to still play with the other guys and do more albums/music/concerts with them but right now he's concentrating on his country career which is something he's wanted to do for quite a while now. He's so talented, I really love his country stuff!

Agreed, I still have it on my DVR. She is an amazing songwriter, sings well and has a genuine personality. She is still down to earth and adores her fans. I don't even like country, but sometimes I steal her CDs from my DDs room.
As far as Wynona, I really don't think she could sell out a major stadium. I wouldn't go...I have this issue with DUI drivers.
Taylor is a great role model and her videos are adorable. Moms, if you daughters have the Fearless CD, take a listen to "The Best Day". I cried like a baby the first time I heard it.
I agree, she is an amazing role model and I LOVE that my girls love her so much, they listen to her music all the time......that and Disney music.

Part of my problem is that I think Taylor Swift is too Pop to win this award. I'm a bit of a purist and I think that she's more Pop than Country.
But she writes good songs and as Kris Kristopherson (sp?) showed you don't have to be a great singer to do be a good singing song writer.
I don't feel Taylor is more pop than many other country artists are right now. Country is definitely getting a more rock/pop vibe to it. Oh and I too loved KK, I think he is a good singer.

I could'nt agree more, why would taylor swift win a country music award? I miss pure country. I would much rather listen to Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Tammy Wynette. Now thats country. She is a pop singer, and i dont think she deserved the country music entertainer of the year award. Yes shes cute and talented, but shes a pop singer.
Actually, Johnny Cash wasn't considered country when he first started, he was a rock singer not country.

Both Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood write their own songs, they are both also very talented singers. Taylor just does not compare to Carrie for me, Carrie is much more than Taylor is. I also love Kellie Pickler's music, but I don't think she write it herself.![]()
Carrie's nice and she has a lovely voice, but sneaking a songwriting credit here and there is not really the same as what Taylor does. Is Miranda all that much of a big deal in the states? I remember her placing in one of those competition shows a while back, she had one song and then not much else. Sort of a non issue for me

Miranda is very popular in the states.......not sure why you feel she isn't.....
Here is what I consider a "come hither" look...

Another one...

And another...

Here are a couple pics of short skirts. I think she's got great legs! But combined with very high heels it is a sexy look...

To me, this is a sexualized innocence look. It's "I'm so sweet and wholesome... (in a whisper) or not.".
Taylor is almost 20, when were those photos taken? Also, Taylor has very small and deep set eyes, she wears the dark eye makeup to make them more noticeable. I don't think she looks "come hither" at all, it's just how she looks normally. And again, she's almost 20, why wouldn't she wear short skirts?
Funny thing, we were watching something with her on it, she had on a short skirt and DD9 said "Mom, I bet Taylor's wearing shorts under her skirt, look how short it is" LOL We have a rule, if it's short you wear shorts....LOL
Edited to add that these skirts aren't actually that short. Taylor has long legs, on me these would be knee length dresses. LOL
