My older dd will turn 10 in March and I am thinking of getting Taylor Swift tickets for this summer. Would that be appropriate?

Also my younger dd might want to come too. She is 7, but loves music although sometimes gets scared in new situations. May be overwhelming for her.

What do you think?

I took my then 9 year old daughter to see Taylor Swift last year and she loved it. I started taking her about about age 7 probably and she's loved it. She's seen Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Cheetah Girls, Trace Adkins, and a few others. She's always enjoyed them as long as it was someone she knew most of their music. I think if you're willing to pay for the ticket, a 7 year old would enjoy it (at least my 7 year old would). If she comes close to us again this year, I"m going to try to take my best friend's daughter who would be 6.

Only you know your DD's the best and what kind of situations they can handle. Bear in mind that the concert will be loud and very crowded.
Are you more worried about her feeling left out? If so, why not take your eldest daughter to the concert and then take another day to do something with just your youngest?

I took my dd for her 10th b-day last year, and we have tickets again for this summer! she has also been to brad paisley and the jonas brothers. i am also going to take her with me to see kenny chesney this summer.

taylors concert, while crowded of course, wasnt "rowdy". i think it would be fun for both of your dd's.

have fun!

I think that would be fine for both your daughter's. I took my DD to see Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, and Miley last year when she was 8. Looking back, I think she was a bit young for Miley (she stradled a motorcycle wearning lingerie). Conversely, Taylor was awesome. I saw her open for Rascal Flatts and she was just the cutest!

I think 7 and 10 are fine ages. However, I highly recommend bringing ear plugs for both your daughters. I went to my 1st concert when I was 10 and all I remember is how much my ears hurt!

I think it depends on the girls' hearing sensitivity and whether crowds bother them. Our kids' first concerts were around 8/9 (Jimmy Buffett) - loud, but they loved them (they are not bothered by crowds).

Last year DD & I did a girls-night out to see Taylor Swift with some mother/daughter friends. The girls were 10 and 11. It was a great show, age appropriate (no cursing or stuff like that) and so much fun to see the girls singing along and having a great time. Taylor Swift really plays to the audience - she even walked through the seats and played a few songs in the "back" of the arena.
