Taxis from MCO

Can you just catch a cab from MCO to your resort like you would at any other major city? Does anyone have any idea how much MCO to the Yacht Club might cost?

We usually rent a car, and we've done Mears and some other car service once long ago, before DME-it only now occurs to me that we might just go the the taxi stand at the airport and get a speedy, private trip to the hotel? It's possible, isn't it? Thx!

Edited to add: What I remember about Mears and the other car service was that I had to schedule it all beforehand. It's not clear to me on the MCO official website whether you can just pick up your bags from baggage claim and then go to the airport taxi stand, get in a cab and be on your way just as you would in any other city. It just seems like I would've done that in the past and now I wonder why I hadn't.

On average you will only save about 30 minutes if you planned on getting your luggage instead of having ME handle your luggage. Maybe less if you have ME get your checked bags. That's on average, not all cases.

In my opinion not with it, but many others disagree.
