Taxi vouchers?

I read this in another forum about complimentary taxi service:

If you need to take a taxi somewhere (for instance the Disney Institute), and you are staying in a Disney Resort, make sure the resort gives you a voucher for the taxi.* This is complimentary and covers the cost of the taxi fee and gratuity.* Be sure to ask for one for your return trip as well if you are departing from a Disney-owned location, including the Disney Institute.

This doesnt sound right, can anybody verify whether this is true?

If you are playing golf in one of the disney golf courses I do believe they will give you a taxi voucher.

There are some very limited circumstances in which Disney will give you a taxi voucher. Spa services at the old DI was one example. They were going to give me one to go from BC to the front entrance of EPCOT for the Backstage Magic tour but I wound up buying an AP so I just went through EPCOT. It's basically limited to those few times in which you're spending money and have to travel in a route that doesn't have Disney transportation available. I'm not sure if it's available to guests going to a Disney golf course.

My husband and son have had complimentary taxis from the golf courses back to the Polynesian a number of times. I have usually or maybe always dropped them off but I'm sure it has been available either way. This may be dependent on where you're staying as one time I remember reading "from select resorts."

I also had a voucher cab ride to/from the Spa at DI during the time period that the spa was still open but the various villas had been shut down. There were no buses to DI at that time.

Both of these fit Lewis' criteria...spending money and no WDW transportation options.

I remember getting a free taxi ride from All Stars to Disney Institute (back when the latter was still open). They said the ride was included in the DI program I signed up for.

We have on several occassions-but as they said previously-only to and from Disney resort to Disney Golf Courses.
