Taxi to Padres ? (5 miles )

Do you think it would be easier to get a taxi from our hotel (Days Inn- Hotel Circle) and take it to the Padres ballpark/and back. Or drive and pay the parking fees/and headaches of getting out after the game (Plus in the dark in strange area to us) ?

Is it hard to get a taxi after the ballgame?

I have the perfect solution for you! Take a taxi to a nearby trolley station (should only be about a 5 min cab ride). Your closest station should either be Fashion Valley or the Linda Vista Station depending on where on Hotel Circle the Days Inn is. Check here for more info. There is a stop right near the stadium. I think it is the Civic Center stop. I always take the trolley downtown to avoid the hassle of parking and the one way streets. Enjoy Petco Park, I hear it is amazing!

Another vote for the trolley. Parking in downtown on a game day is tough.

Trolley! I wouldn't go near Petco Park if it wasn't for the trolley, unless of course I could afford a limo (which I can't), LOL. The closest trolley stop to the Days Inn in Hotel Circle would be two blocks from your hotel, which you can walk and skip the taxi fees. The only hotel directly on the trolley line in hotel circle is the Travelodge, as far as I know, but many of the hotels offer complimentary shuttles to a trolley station.

Question...we are staying at the Pacific Terrace Hotel...would the trolley be best for us? Going to the game Friday night June 24th...also is there not a lot for PETCO?

Petco Park does have a parking lot, a very limited parking lot, but a parking lot nonetheless. To get from your hotel to the ballgame, you would have to take the 30 bus, then the 11A bus, then the trolley. It would probably be easier to go another route.
