We are staying at HRH. Do we have to take a taxi to the international drive? How much will it cost?

International Drive is a huge road, so it's hard to say. :) You might be going to Wet-n-Wild, which is not far down I-Drive at all (like, 30 seconds!). On the other hand you might be going to the Festival Bay Mall which is a little farther.

If you tell us where you are planning to go I'll bet some of the members here might be able to help.

We may want to go somewhere very close by to eat. Didnt study the I drive area yet so we dont know.

Gotcha. :)

Well there are tons and tons of places to eat on I-Drive. Renting a car would probably be best so you can drive around and explore, but I don't know if that is an option you would consider.

Not sure what the best thing to do is at this point. Maybe pull up Google Earth or Google Maps and look around I-Drive, then search for details on various restaurants you see.

What type of restaurant are you looking for? Buffet? Fancy? The big McDonald's (pretty neat place, great for kids, arcade and pizza, etc.)? A mall with a variety of restaurants? Seafood? Steak? Chinese? Maybe if you give us some more info on what you are looking for we can throw out some suggestions. :)

We too will be staying at As music and on Jan. 31 at about 10:30pm will need to get to best western plaza internation and are looking for the best and cheapest way with three pieces of luggage to do so. Thanks for your help.

The on site hotels have shuttles to Wet and Wild so you can always hop on one of those, which is free, to get you to Int Drive and then from there walk to get some thing to eat. It's been awhile since I was in that area so I can't remember what places are right near there. But I would look at the Int Drive website to see which restaurants are where, that way if you do get a cab, you'll already have it figured out where you're going.

There's the I-RIDE trolley,I don't think they go into Universal but if you can walk over to I drive by WetnWild or to the Kirkman rd entrance of Universal they go there.I think they're pretty inexpensive and as someone said I-Drive is a long road and I think the trolley goes from the north end by Festival Bay and the Prime outlets past the convention center,Sea World and at the south end the Orlando Premium outlets. There are restaurants and attractions all over this corridor.

You can also get lynx bus 37 from Universal. This takes you onto I-Drive and follows the trolley route right down to the bottom of I Drive. It is $1.50 per person. We did this recently and found it very easy and the buses are pretty regular. There are lots of great places to eat on the route.

Yes it stops at the bus stops. Think this is also where the shuttles and mears drop off. We saw lots of taxis here so is probably their drop off place too. You go out of Citywalk past the movie theatre, along a moving walkway and then down some steps to the right. The bus stop is right a the bottom of the stairway. Probably takes five mins or less from Citywalk. We did this three or four times in Sept. The buses seemed to be pretty regular, we never waited more than fifteen minutes or so. I think it is the 37 but you can check the lynx site which has timetables etc. http://www.golynx.com

We dont drive and found the lynx buses and the I-Drive to be great value for money. We stayed on I-Drive south and used them most days when we didnt go to Disney.

Sorry just to add to my last post. Once you get onto I-Drive you can then use the trolley very cheaply to get up and down I drive. You can pick up trolley information maps most hotels and places which give you lots of information about the places there and tells you which stops they are located at. There are also week tickets etc. sold for the trolley which are great value if you are going to use a few times.

I never thought about taking the bus. Thanks for the info!

Glad I could help. If you decide to use the bus just look for the stop with the purple pawprints;)
