Hi all- I want to take a taxi to downtown disney from our off site hotel on 192 . About how much do you think we will be paying for both ways? We want to do some major drinking so no one has to be the dd and miss out!

there is a fare estimator on Mears site. They operate the Checker Cabs in orlando and prob a tad more expensive but at least its a guide. Anyway that came out at approx $55 one way!!

Current taxi fare in the Orlando area is $2.20 for the first 1/4 mile and then 55¢ for each additional 1/4 mile (or 80 seconds of waiting time). In addition, there is a $0.50 surcharge on all rides (except the surcharge is $1.00 to or from the airport).

I have seen a recent report that this is the 5th highest taxi fare in the country.

Is there a place to just drink left in DTD? I guess Planet Hollywood might have a bar?

Other than Raglan Road, I'm not sure what other places have a bar.

If you are going to foot a bill for a taxi ride, I would suggest Citywalk. At least it is open later than all venues at DTD. From 192 you are going to pay premium prices. I would venture a guess as to it being close to 50 bucks or more each way. I usually pay from 11 to 15 bucks from AKV to Boardwalk. Only HOB and PH are open past 11 at DTD (as far as I recall). On the Boardwalk, you have Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall. . .both open till 2 a.m. The only good thing about taking a taxi to Citywalk or DTD/Boardwalk is that you can get a van and split the cost among several. The price is the same for up to 7 passengers. Not sure how many you are traveling with but ya know. . .lol.

Ahah! It is indeed raglan Road- going to the halfway to saint pattys day party in Sept! I will be sporting the green and spending the green on much Smithwicks! Thanks for the info!
