Taxi Sizes?

So I am assuming that the taxis are used to a ton of tourist traffic and can accomodate families, but you know what they say about assuming!

So are the taxis the minivan or mini SUV type? We have 2 adults, 1 kid in booster (do I need the booster just for the taxi ride?) and 1 kid in a carseat, plus 2+ suitcases and a stroller. Will we all fit?

And what is the going rate- around $40 plus tip one way?

Yes, you will easily find minivan taxis at the airports that should accommodate your family. You didn't say where you were flying into. The fare from LAX is much different than the fare from SNA or LGB.

Oh that probably would have helped huh?

We're probably flying into SNA, it's $100 more than LAX but it looks like between the hassle of LAX and the difference in transportation costs, it will make up the difference.

We have used van taxi's for the last 3 years. You do have to wait a little longer to get one but we fit the same amount of people and stuff in just fine. Be careful of going out from the hotel. The concierge's have contracts with companies and one year they ordered us a town car to return and we didn't fit. The next year we made sure it was a van. Still a private company but we have to have a mini van.
