Taxi from DTD to Universal

My father told me that Downtown Disney is the closest point to universal on Disney property and therfore taking a cab from there would be cheapest. Can anyone confirm that?

Yep, that's true. Many years ago on an ill-advised stay on International Drive without a car, I had to take a couple of cabs to Disney. Cab fare to Downtown Disney was about half of cab fare to MK.

We paid $25/one way from DTD to Univ the last time we did it. And we were staying at AKL at the time and asked a cabbie right there and he as well confirmed it would cost more going directly from the resort to US.
