taxi cab costs in the World

Oh so they really don't have any buses that make that run? Wow that really surprises me. I guess it might be just as well then that we either catch a boat if there is one there getting ready to go or we walk it. My husband and I are both healthy, so no reason why we can't. We will have DD6 in a stroller. Is the pathway all well lit? My hopes is to stay at HS long enough to catch the Osbourne lights and then still make it to our ADR in time. I wouldn't think that Captains Grille will be quite as busy as other restaurants. I can't believe they don't have buses, so everyone has to walk to that park who is staying in those resorts?????

I am confused is the Boardwalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club all in the same location? I was told that we could have dinner at Captains Grille at Yacht Club and then walk over to Beach Club to see the decorations there. Are you saying then to walk to another place to catch the cab. Should it really cost more that $10.00 or $15.00 if it is just around the corner? This is the one trip that we will have to make by cab, but the others aren't musts since it was more just for convenience.

All these resorts are within easy walking distance of each other. You could head to the YC/BC, then walk around the lake and check out the BW decorations as well as the Swan and Dolphin, and then return to YC..if you wish.
You can get a cab at any of these resorts. The fare between YC and POP is less than $10. We did that exact same ride about 18 months ago, and the fare plus tip, was $10 for three of us. POP is very close to all these resorts.
I would figure on spending less than $15 now for that same ride..one way.

There are no buses that run between any of the Epcot resorts and DHS. You have to use the boats or walk along the sidewalk that runs beside the canal. If the boat is right there as you walk up, then fine, use the boat. Then it will be about 15 mins to the YC. But, if there is no boat in sight, it will be at least 15 mins before the boat gets there, then 15 mins on the boat, plus any loading times. The walk takes about 20 mins from DHS to the YC. Walk down the sidewalk, go left when you get to the end, walk up to the bridge (at entrance/exit to BW), go right over the bridge to YC.

I would plan on being at the Osborne Lights as soon as they are turned on. Then, plan on being out of the park by 6:20, and on your way, either by boat or on foot, to the YC.

Yes, everyone either walks or takes the boat...and they pretty much love it that way!!! That's one of the reasons we bought DVC at BWV years ago..the ability to walk to both Epcot and DHS.

Yes, the sidewalk is very well lit...I have walked it myself, alone, late at night. It is a nice, wide sidewalk....with plenty of other people on it until DHS closes for the night.
As far as Captain's Grill goes...you should be fine even if you are a bit late. It is one of the restaurants that never seems overly busy. They even take walk-ups for dinner to the best of my knowledge.

Almost everyone takes the boat. You will see only a few walking. It's about a mile, so most people want to save their feet. And obviously, there are people who just can't walk that far.

The boats are actually great, they're very scenic and relaxing.

There really IS a boat (two or three running at a time, actually) doing the route Eljay lists, above.

There are no buses because, really, it's the 'back way' between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. There used to be just the boat, no other option. Now, you can - and many, many, many, many Guests do - walk between the two parks or from either park to any of the resorts between them.

I actually prefer the walk...my 33 y/o dd won't do the walk, has to use the boats. I will say that my stay at BWV in August was marred only by the numerous waits for the boats to both Epcot and DHS...yes, that child (if you can call 33 a child) made me ride the boat to Epcot from BWV!!!

Okay so only about a mile doesn't seem bad unless we are really pooped from being in the park all day since it is going to be a rope drop day. I am hoping to be up to all of this by then. The reason for this trip is to celebrate life and our family. Back in June I was hit head on by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over the line. I am still in physical therapy now, but really hoping to be through in a few more weeks. I have started back on my eliptical machine in order to build back up my cardio ability since I have barely done anything for 3 1/2 months. I just really need to make sure that I understand all of our transportation options (promised DH no rental car) so that we can make those decisions based on how we are all feeling. We will definetly plan on taking a cab back to POP, but it is nice to know that we can either walk to our ADR or take a boat ride. I never realized that there were hotels that were within walking distance to both of these parks. I have been to Disney every year for the last 5 years and several times before that as well and until you really dig in and do your research you don't know. Thanks for all of your help it is greatly appreciated.
