i was wondering if I could go out the "back" entrance of Epcot through a resort and get a taxi back to AoA. I plan to have dinner at UK (rose/crown) then watch show. But I would love to figure out a speedier departure. We will have a 4 yr old and 14 month old with us. We will probably need two taxis, it's 4 adults the two kids and a double stroller. Actually not even sure a stroller can go in a taxi. Also can I take my kids in a taxi, what about car seat laws?

It's easiest to get to BC and ask a Valet to call a taxi van for you. They should be equipped with car seats - you can ask the Valet to let the taxi service know you will be needing 2 car seats.

Thank you. So your allowed to exit through BC even if your not a guest? And you can utilize the valet there? There is no issues with not being a guest of the hotel. We r staying in disney property just not that one.

Any Disney guest is allowed access to all guest areas of resorts. Valets provide transportation services to all Disney guests. All it entails is the Valet calls for a taxi and a taxi from a central waiting area drives over.

A minor quibble here, we were early for our ressie at the clam bake last Oct. so we strolled the pool area when we were confronted by a CM who asked to scan our MBs and when she saw that we were staying at the Board Walk she made us leave. We were fully clothed so there was little danger that we were going to crash the pool.

I realized the pool issue but didn't think the OP would be lost at the pool area on her way to the Valet podium. ;)

They almost always have van taxi's available at most of the valet desks at the deluxe resorts. If one is not sitting there waiting they will call one for you with just a short wait so I think you will be fine with one taxi and they are really reasonable priced as well. We don't like to rent a car and have never had a problem using a taxi the few times that Disney transportation just wont work for us for one reason or another.

absolutely! As you exit through international gateway you'll want to stay to the right and go into the beach club, that is the shortest walk for you.

if you go to the left you go to the boardwalk. slightly longer walk but there are a bunch of places on the boardwalk to grab a slice of pizza or hot dog if you are hungry before you leave. also they have little shows on the boardwalk at night.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but it seems as though if you are willing to walk to Beach Club or Boardwalk to take a taxi, why not just exit through the front entrance of Epcot and take the free bus back to Art of Animation?

The OP is looking for a faster way back to their resort, and taking a bus at park closing time isn't exactly fast.

Yes. Looking to cut out some time getting back to resort. We will be doing buses for must part but at that point I know my kids will be done and probably the adults lol.
Thanks for all the advise.

We do this a lot. Especially to or from an ADR but also lots of times home from a park. We travel with 7 or 8. Our two youngest are on the autism spectrum and we always take a taxi van. All fit comfortably. Prices are reasonable and so much quicker. We too go from world showcase to usually Boardwalk because love a stop at the bakery!!

We stay at BWV often. a little hint..try to see if you can watch Illuminations on the bridge by France. It's a good view and provides a quick and easy exit to International Gateway when the show is complete. Time wise, the quickest way is to walk to BC from EPCOT and grab a cab there... you will need to walk through the lobby to the front of the resort for the cab as the walkway from EPCOT leads you to the back of the resort. You can take the boat if it's there, however it will probably take longer as you need to wait for everyone to load and so on and so on..but if you're tired and need a break it's a nice little ride and if you have a stroller you can just roll it on - no need to fold it up.

Good advice so far but honestly you may not save all that much time and it may not be as convenient as you imagine. You still have to exit with the crowds through the IG, wait for the boat or walk to the BC, head through the BC to the lobby and then wait for the valet/bellman to call a taxi van with car seats. Then pay the fare $$..

Another option and one we used frequently when my kids were small was to wait a bit after illuminations; especially if the kids were settled or sleeping in the stroller. Head to a quiet spot and finish up your drinks and snacks and watch the crowds diminish..... then enjoy a leisurely walk through an empty WS and hit the bus line after the crowds have diminished.

Of course this is a call you can make on the fly depending on everyone's mood that evening !

Thanks I am considering this option depending on the groups mood. I was not aware there was a boat we would have to take to get to Beach Club?

There is a boat from IG to the BC/YC, Boardwalk then the S&D, you can either take the boat or walk. Walking is easier and faster IMHO unless your all really tired and the boat is already there. Stroller can remain open on the boat but children can not remain in the stroller - another reason to walk if one or both are sleeping.

I agree with tjmw: walking is faster as that is your main reason for leaving through International Gateway rather than the front of Epcot and heading towards the bus.

OP,there are also Taxis available by the Resort Bus Stops at the "front" of Epcot.:)

There are always A LOT of them sitting there waiting for the "post-IllumiNations" crowd.

A bonus is your fare will be cheaper than from a Crescent Lake Resort.

We took a Van to POP after ROE one night and the fare was $9.50.

AoA's fare should be just about the same.:)
