Tax Time is Coming...

Are you going to spend your tax refund at Disney this year?

  • Yes, and it's going to pay for the whole trip!

  • Yes, but I'm still going to have to kick in some savings, too.

  • I'm getting a refund, but I'm not spending it on Disney.

  • I'm not getting a refund...

Our refund will go into savings. My wife took on a part time job to pay for our vacations last year, and she is continuing it this year. :thumbsup2

Planning to use my refund for Disney; amount of refund will determine when we go!!!

Kinda OT, but how do you know how much you can get back, if you get any back that is??

One year, I got a thousand more than the following year, and income did not change??:confused3

ETA: Because if I knew the amount I would(could) be getting back I would DEFINITELY be planning my Disney Trip!!

I'm hangin' over on the "no buy" forum to help with the discipline to pay ahead of time for the trip in December.

I didn't vote, because nothing fits my category. A VERY small part of my refund is going to be used for our trip. My room is nearly paid for...the rest will be when we get there. Only got a little over $200 left. Still have to get tickets...$392 + tax. So THERE'S where the refund comes in. I've got a check coming for the remainder of my pell grant...SPENDING MONEY! :cool1::woohoo: I haven't told DH about it...gonna be a surprise. And now that I think about it, as far as the tickets...the refund won't even be used for that. I've got some money left from a claim I filed a few weeks ago, so I'll be using that for the tickets. :cheer2:

I voted not getting a refund, but that's not entirely true. We will have a refund (I have already entered most of the info into the tax program at work), but it will be applied to next year's tax. DH has joined the ranks of the self-employed, no more refunds for us.

This year is Branson anyway. We'll go to Disney next year, plenty of time to save up.

Last year we got a minor decent amount back, but this year (even though we changed our w-2s so they don't take as much out each check) because of some credits we qualify for we are getting back a whopping one for once.
Our plans? Buy a new couch, get new tires for the cars, put a good size chunk into savings... AND.... We're going to surprise our DS with a trip to WDW at the end of next month when he is off of school. We already put in for the time off. hehe

Here's to hoping to be able to hold onto it until black Friday again. And we are still going to Disney in April.:cool1:

I voted #2 option but in a roundabout way. This year's tax return is going towards our "move back to CA fund". We are bent on returning to SoCal as we lived there last year and fell in love. It didn't hurt that we had resident passes for DLCA, that was icing on the cake. So, yes, we plan to use our tax return to get back to Disney. If all works out well, this time next year we will be back in teh sunny confines of SoCal, 20mi away from the Mouse.

Not spending all of it - when we find out the amount we are getting back, a portion is being set aside for central air and some for the room at WDW - we want to stay at the CR. ( we will save the rest of the $$ until we decide when we are going to go) so Disney will get it, just not sure when :headache:

Some is going to WDW. rest is going into savings. We are going to NYC in Dec so need money for that.

Our return is paying for our whole trip.

Whats even better is that our taxes are filled, accepted and our return should hit our account on the 28th. :) Disney here we come.

Another one here that is using a little bit of tax refund and pell grant. I am just glad I can finish my finals right before we leave and don't have to worry about them on my trip. I can't wait!
