Tax refunds

I just tried to order a return transcript and it says "A transcript is not available for the year you have requested. Please complete Form 4506-T or contact us at 800-829-1040. "

wonderful! I'm really hoping my status changes later today or tomorrow morning!!!

Mine said the same thing just now.

Just had my taxes done yesterday and was told that the tuition form (education credit), has not been approved by the government yet. When I got home, I googled when this form would be approved and there was an update that said mid-February.

I don't understand how the government can dictate when an individual needs to receive all necessary tax information (end of January) and then dictates that taxes must be filed by April 15 and yet does not have whatever they need to do in place for this to happen.

The tax person told me this delay was due to the fiscal cliff - really? Last time I checked, tax time comes around the same time every year. These people in our government need to have their wages garnished for every piece of red tape they create!! :rolleyes2

Very annoyed with the education credit situation too. We were counting on this money to pay.off our Disney trip in time :(

hellelujah! filed on Jan. 17th, was accepted Jan. 28 and FINALLY the status has updated with a deposit date of Feb. 12th!

Ughhhh...........I have one in college and one going into college in the fall. I had an education credit for the older one, so mine hasn't even been accepted yet. I need that refund sooooooo much right now. My younger one is a theatre major and has auditions to do for her schools. A portion of that refund was going toward our massive road trip next week to visit schools and audition! Grrr......

Also, I really hope this delay isn't going to impact my younger one's financial package at whichever school she picks. The FAFSA was done in mid January, but I can't use the IRS Retrieval Tool until the return has processed. Again...GRRRRR......

I also filed my fafsa but you don't need the IRS tool you can input the numbers directly from your forms yourself. That is what I did.

I am jealous :). I filed on the 31st too and still waiting for it to get approved.

Anyone waiting on the education credits (me! :wave2:)...

I just checked the IRS website (as advised by my Administrative Agency professor) and low and behold, there is an update stating that the IRS will start processing Form 8863 on Valentine's Day... :cheer2:

And, anyone waiting on Depreciation and Amortization Form 4562, your stuff should start processing 2/10...

Now let's see if the government holds to those dates... :lmao:

Add us to waiting too! DS is a senior in high school but takes almost all college courses. It was worth waiting for the tax credit for his classes. It is making a decent difference in what we are getting back.

Just got an email from turbo tax IRS should be accepting returns with educational credits on feb 14th

I just checked our bank balance and our refund is already there!

We are not doing anything fun with it though - it is all going on the credit card. Our goal is to pay it off 100% this year.

Yay! I filed early am, Superbowl Sunday and got approval today for a 2/12 deposit date! Med cruise, here we come! :cool1:
