Does anyone know what the "applicable tax" % is on a premier passport, and why there isn't tax charged on other park admission? Is it because the pass is also valid in Florida? I'm a little confused.

I would say Florida is the reason why you have to pay tax on the Premier pass, since the Premier gains admission to WDW parks. WDW tickets are taxed.

A portion of the cost of the Premier is taxed, a portion of the Premier is not taxed. I believe it's half. So, if you are trying to calculate it with a straight percentage, you cannot.

Ultimately, when the pass was $700, it was $722.75. I don't know the final number now that it's $749.

I think the $22 tax on $700 is 3.25%, so I'm guessing Orange county taxes are 6.5% maybe? I was hoping to not have to pay any tax if I bought it here in Anaheim, I guess they won't allow that. Thanks for the replies!

When I renewed mine in FL, the receipt said $24.34 for Florida tax. The total came to $773.35.

I did a Google search for you. Yes, Orange County, FL's tax rate is 6.5% (not to be confused with Orange County, CA's tax rate of 7.75% :goodvibes).

Florida tax rates.

We just renewed our Premier passes this month in CA. The cost was $773.35each which includes $48.70 in taxes. Interesting that the total cost is the same as dalstitch46 but the pps tax was less than what I paid. They must adjust the "base" price for the state in which you purchase the pass to account for the varying tax rate. In the end, you pay the same whether in FL or CA.

I was looking into upgrading to the Premier for an upcoming trip (well, May 2012) and that's the price we were told (773.35-ish).

So, I think I will wait until our Premium pass is up for renewal and then renew & upgrade at the same time (they will only give credit for the price we paid for the premium which was $439 before the price increase). If we upgraded now, we would have lost the $60 discount...

Does it say $48 in taxes on your receipt? I don't think there is a renewal discount for the premiere so it's $749 no matter if its a new pass or a renewal.

Yes, it says on the receipt the $48.70 tax for each ticket purchased.

I figured it out. It's the tax for BOTH passes, not each. Half of $48.70 is $24.35. The PP had 24.34 because it was one pass and rounding on the taxes.

Now I see what you saw was weird.. didn't think about it until I did the math.
Here's what the receipt looked like.
