Has anyone ever seen anyone or tried themselves to pick anything in the Tomorrowland landscaping? I was eying these plump grapefruit last time, considering juicing one for a hotel cocktail! Does anyone know if that would get you ejected, or if they'd appreciate the harvest? Do any of those fruits make their way to DisneyDisney's fancier restaurants? Tomorrowland to Table movement?

I have never seen anyone pick the plants in Tomorrowland. In most cases, I think the horticulture/landscaping department makes sure that the dropped or about to drop fruit are cleaned up. While I don't know if it would get you evicted from the park, I would think it would frowned upon.

I'm thinking a bit woody and grainy. Kinda gets stuck in between your teeth too. :faint:
I prefer more chewing friendly. Lol

According to Disneyland's website, they made all the plants edible in Tomorrowland to go with the future theme of the land being a self sufficient farm. I read somewhere else that some of the veggies go to Pizza Port pizzas. I keep getting conflicting information about whether or not it's frowned upon to eat them though. Some sites say it's encouraged, others say it's dangerous due to ripeness/pesticides etc. So I don't know. I know my husband will be super tempted to grab when we go though lol

A CM friend told us that Disney does not encourage it (so please don't) and that the fruit and veg are not organic (i.e. some form of pesticide is used to keep things looking nice. Just think, when was the last time you saw bug infested landscaping at DLR?). It would be awful if you got sick from doing this or if other guests saw you and followed your example, then they got sick. If there is produce being used at DLR restaurants, it isn't advertised as such. Think of it as being at any location with professional, decorative landscaping. Would you just walk up and start picking and eating things?

Does this remind anyone else of Willy Wonka? I just imagine a land with candy cane trees and chocolate boulders and everyone just taking a piece as they go by. :hyper:
