I do not see tasers specifically listed on the prohibited items list on the Disney World site. It does say weapons but this would be used specifically for defense and absolutely no way as a weapon. Anyone know if I should just leave my taser in the room? I would hate to walk to MK and be turned away. Although, BLT is a short walk.
Well, why would you carry a taser? For self defense? Considering the statistical likelihood of someone being a victim of a crime in Disneyworld, yes. I'm wondering why the heck you're brining a taser.
OP: Taser's a bad idea and Disney is relatively low risk, leave it.
Everyone else: quit acting so righteous, Disney is low risk but it's not zero risk. I can think of one CM at Epcot during F&W last year that might've wished he had a taser.
You don't need to bring a taser to the parks. There is plainclothes security all over the public areas. I believe it would be considered a weapon by security when you go through the bag check, unless you have it in a pocket and they just don't see it.
If you feel like you need it to walk to and from the Contemporary (I don't think so personally) then you can get a locker outside the park and store it. Better than having them confiscate it.
OP, I think you might want to check out the Florida statute concerning carrying tasers anywhere--not just in WDW.
DS is in law enforcement and always points out to our family that we have to pay attention to the local and state laws. If you don't have the proper paperwork, it can be a big big mess. And unfortunately, just because I have paperwork to carry a weapon (or defense item) in one state, doesn't make it ok every where.
I don't think it's righteous to expect the moron who just tried to squeeze his family in front of me 2 minutes before the parade isn't armed. Certain CMs I can see, guests no.
If the safety of a location I don't really need to be concerns me enough that I investigate whether I can bring a weapon or not, I just don't go there.

I don't think that's righteous either, but I doubt that guy is coming here and asking. "I can't believe you even asked that question" is on the cutting edge of righteous, though; the correct answer is "no".
