We saw the Tarzan Rocks show at AK in 2002 and absolutely loved it! So we saw it again in 2003! I think we liked it so much because it was rock and roll, modern music (Phil Collins!) and it was full of energy and because of the roller bladers with the ramps.

And, we will admit, that Disney's Tarzan was the first movie we ever took our DD to in a theatre so the film has a special place in our hearts.

We recommended it to a couple and there son who just got back from WDW and we were flabbergasted that they hated it so much they left early!!!

They said all of our advice about WDW was priceless except for the Tarzan Rocks show.

So, are we predisposed to like this show so much?
What do you all think?
I didn't think anything was "bad" at WDW!

I have to admit that I would not take the time to see it again. I absolutely love Festival of the Lion King, but Tarzan Rocks was just ok for me. I am glad I did it once, but that was enough. But, I am glad you enjoyed it. That is what makes the world go around.

I agree with msmouse. I saw it once and would not take the hour+ out of my day to see it again. I also loved Festival of the Lion King. I would see that again over Tarzan.

DD4 and I love it. We never miss it on a trip. My mom and sister love it as well. The show itself is good, but we really love it for Tarzan. He is quite the hottie. My mom saw the show first and told me I had to go. I was skeptical at first, but I was quickly convinced.

I liked Tarzan Rocks, but my family said that once was enough. I love the music and Tarzan was easy on the eyes. :teeth: My family like the music too, but they thought it was a tad too loud.

My family loves Tarzan Rocks. We prefer to sit in the back section of the theater and away from the speakers. It can get really loud in there sometimes.

I love Tarzan Rocks! It is such an entertaining show! Not to mention a big, buff guy in a loin cloth...how can you go wrong? :teeth:

I like it, but it's definitely not your standard Disney music. It's great to have live, rather than pre-recorded, music in a show. Having said that, they really need to upgrade the TR sound system as I think the average to poor sound reproduction is probably why many people don't like the show. I find it very hard to hear the singers accurately when sitting in the front half of the theater.

We really like Tarzan Rocks! Of course, like an earlier poster, a couple of the songs hold special places in our hearts. I think that maybe some people aren't too fond of the show because it is not what they expect. I think many people assume this show is going to be more story oriented. I think if you are a "concert goer" this show is something that you will probably like. I agree it can be too loud, and we also like to sit in the back of the theater most of the time.

I saw the show last May and my family and I call it the "hot" show because that theatre is so hot! I don't know that I would take the time to watch it again. Once was enough for me.

Saw it a couple of years ago. Didn't really care for it too much. It seemed to be trying a little to hard to appeal to the "gen x" crowd.

Of course it's not comparable to Festival of lion King....but I thought it was pretty good . I saw it once in 2002,and didn't get a chance to see it again in my other previous trips. I definittely will see it this summer.

I saw it in 1999 and 2001 and loved it both times, very much hoping its still there in November! :cool1:

was because if there was any rain or showers earlier that day and the floor part was not dry.........then the roller bladers that are outstanding can not do the whole routine on the cement area that goes thru the first and second section of the seating area....They are something else and very talented singers ...dancers and roller bladers...
SHort entertainment is not always good either.....but we all can't like the same thing or we would be all scrambling for different activities in disney :jumping1:

We didn't care for this show at all... but we may give it another try this year since we skipped it last year.

The first time I saw it...I didn't like it. But I was comparing it to Festival of the Lion King. And going into the show, that is how I thought it would be performed. But the show has grown on me and ranks second as my favorite, FotLK being my first. But we do have friends that visit once a year and they would rather stand outside the Tarzan theatre and waste a half hour just standing there then going in and watching the show.

One of our favorites, due to the dancing and roller blading. Tarzan is nice, too, and the flying scarves was my favorite act at La Nouba. Not too crazy about the really hot theater, but it's a good place to eat a frozen lemonade.

I Have great memories of Tarzan but maybe for the wrong reasons!
While the show sttarted CMS were frantically trying to clean up something that had been spilled in the centre passageway,But they failed! The first skater slipped over and they all tripped over him resulting in a a huge pile of bodies!!
It was incredibly funny!!
