Target's weird Easter candy markdown?

The day after Easter the target I go to only had one shelf of Easter items left. Not one row but one shelf.

There was much less on the shelves even before clearance so I knew there wouldn't be anything left.

I wonder if they put away all the candy for the next year? Because none of that was left when I checked the day after easter.

I got pretty much the same stuff, but also 50 bags of plastic eggs (600 total) for my friend's annual egg hunt! Not bag for $4.50! Oh, and 2 packs of Egg Hunt Signs for $1.00 each and a mini table runner for $1.29.

Wow, I was just in Target today and didn't see any Easter candy or decor:confused3 I want some sale items too! I will need to go back again.:rotfl:

I was at my target yesterday and very little was left. What was there was 50% off.

I went yesterday thinking the candy would be 70% off and everything else 90% off. But when I got there remembered it would be today.
I was on the outlook for non easter ish candy for my daughters candy buffet for her communion. I did score some 90% off chocolate bunnies that I am going to melt down and make chocolate covered treats for the communion. (marshmallows, Oreos, pretzels and so on)
I went today and got 14 bags of the fruity tootsie rolls. I wanted jellybeans also but I can get them cheaper at walmart when they go 75% off. Anyone know ahem walmart goes to 75% off?

I'm not sure, but the Brach's jelly beans are only 50 cents a bag at 50% off. I got quite a few bags for my sons' graduation candy buffet:) Great idea about melting chocolate; I'm going to hit my Target again tomorrow with that in mind:goodvibes

I cheaped out this year for Easter and got the Brach's jelly beans and I didn't think they were that great. I'm looking at getting the starburst ones. At 75% off they should come out to .47 a bag ( reg 1.88). Targets were .80 a bag.
I tried one of the bunnies last night and they melted nicely. Look for the little Petes they come out to .10 and Brach's ones come to .15 for the same size chocolate which is still a good deal.

Went to my local Target today. Still had one complete aisle of Easter left, but it was all candy & all 70% off. Tons left too.

I went to my Target today and they had a TON of candy left and it was all at 90% off. I picked up some items to keep in my office for people to take when they come to talk to me. :)

There were a few of the felt baskets and a lot of plastic eggs, but not much of anything else.

Saw the same at my local Target. I have to steer clear of that stuff, too much stress...and chocolate goodness is my one way ticket to the guilt train!

I haven't been to Target yet so don't know how it is priced around here. But after Christmas they had the same funky pricing.

Hi,

I just got back from Walmart and their stuff was 75% off. It included all candy and easter toys. I got some mini m&m's and a whole bunch of little toys that I am planning on putting in the goody bags for my dd's upcoming birthday party (it was great because while it was in Easter packaging the toys were not Easter specific so I was able to get lots of stuff for $0.25 or less.

Happy Shopping.

Just got home from Target and some candy was at 90% and others were 70%. I just scanned what I was interested in to see the price. Snickers butterfingers 6pk 31 cents each and reeces were 90 cents. Stocked up on snickers my ds's take them for a quick snack when hiking.

1 Target near me was 90% off on Easter and bagged candy was 50% off, the 2nd Target was 90% off on Easter and bagged candy was 70% off. I miss the days of 90% off everything after the holiday. The last time I saw bagged candy at 90% off at Target was Halloween 2009 and it was great to be able to buy the bags of fun size candy bars for $0.21 - $0.25 and since the expiration date was usually very far away, you could buy a lot and have it last for 6+ months.

My local Walmart went to 75% off 2 days ago, unfortunately they never go to 90% off and have horrible clearance in general. They are still selling 2002 XBox sports games for $52 (I wish I was joking but I am not).

I think each Target takes there own markdowns. Markdowns used to be corporate wide, but I think those days are long gone.

I went to 2 different targets today.

The first one had very little left. At 90% off I got (2) easter egg hunt sign kits $1.00ea, (3) 12 packs of plastic eggs $.09ea, (1) pack of treat bags $.19, and (2) Paul Frank Nestle Crunch Monkey $.39ea.

At the second target, they had a ton of stuff left at either 70% or 90% off. At that one I got bunches of candy for less than a $1 a bag, and two spring themed onsies for $.49 each. My friend just had a baby two weeks ago so these will be perfect for her little one this spring.
