Target Skippy Peanut Butter Deal

This is the second week that it's been $1.66. The jar had a price of $2.09 on it however, when you scan it it comes up $1.66. I'm going to get more tonight. Good to get even to donate to the food pantry.

I was at my local Target (NY) and they had a letter indicating that they no longer accept copies of coupons from online due to fraudulent (sp) use. They showed copies of coupons as an example. Interesting how some stores still accept them and others, not. Wondering how Target will handle this as a whole. :confused3

I wonder if your Target is mine? I went in 2 weeks ago to do the skippy deal with printed coupons from their website. They told me they were no longer taking any coupons from the internet, even their own. I asked "what if I print them from the computers at CS?" and they still said no. They were very nice about and even told me to call corporate. I did and they said that the store made a mistake, the only internet coupons that they were not allowed to take were the 2 that were pictured at all registers ($5 off $25). He said that the store must have misunderstood. They ended up sending me 2 $3 coupons to use on anything in the store.
I went last night to use my the skippy coupons and the $3 ones but they were all out of peanutbutter.

No sale here (Chicago suburbs).

I went today and the shelf price is $2.04 and it scanned $2.04.

Anymore $1.04 is a good price for PB around here anyway.

Was it creamy? The crunchy was $2.04, but the creamy was $1.66. Still, with the $1.00 off coupon it would have been $1.04, which is a pretty good price.

I just want to second what happycampers and elgerber have already said. my target (brandon, florida) had the same coupons ($5 off $25 purchase, and $5 off $25 in toys) but that was the only coupons they weren't taking, not any of the other online coupons, I made customer service mgr check.

however, our skippy was not the brand on sale, it was Peter Pan that was 3 for $5, which is $1.66 each. I had 4 Skippy coupons with me and couldn't use them! So I just bought a giant jar and used one coupon just so it wouldn't be a total waste of a trip.

then, of course, i stopped at starbucks on the way out....:)

Yay, just bought 4 Skippy Creamy Peanut Butters. They scanned $1.66 each and I used the $1 coupons for each.

I also had a coupon for $1 off any Bic pen purchase and they were on sale at Target 2/$1. I got 2 packs that were 10 pens + 2 free pens in each package for FREE!!!

Just got back from Target, I had 2 jars of peanut butter and the coupons that I printed from the Target website...

Well the cashier got an attitude as soon as she saw my coupons that they "weren't accepting those because they were fraudulent". They had signs showing the two $5 off $25 coupons, but those were the only ones the sign said they weren't taking anymore. I pointed that out and told her that they were straight off of Target's website. She continued to argue and then calls someone else to "verify" that they wouldn't take them. The other girl said yes, they were fine. I almost said nevermind and just left.
The cashier did ring them up (no apologies) but I was still embarrassed because I felt like she was accusing me of something.

Oh, I also got the BIC pens, she really examined that coupon to find a reason not to take it!

I went to our Target this evening after church and checked out the peanut butter. Ours was $1.66 for original creamy. Next to that was the Skippy Natural peanut butter for $1.82. I ended up going with the natural since we're trying to avoid hydrogenated oils when possible, and the extra .16 won't break the bank. I still think peanut butter at .82 is a good deal.

Sorry you got attitude. She definately should've apologized. Glad you were able to get cheap peanut butter and the free pens. Gotta love free.

Darn...I bought skippy today in Nj today.....$2.09 for creamy. I still got it $1.09 a jar and i only then opted for 2 jars. I seem to remember last year right before school the food stores where selling it for .99 a jar advertised as back to school.

I'm so glad you posted this. I went yesterday and was disappointed to see that jars at our Target were $2.69. Went home with unused coupons and no peanut butter.

Since I read your post, I decided to try scanning a price today. (Target is right on my daily route). Whoopee. They came up at $1.66. So, I got 9 jars!

You guys are the best.

Got 6 yesterday.

Our local Target didn't have them listed as $1.66 either, but they scanned in at that rate.

Dawn

Yes it was the creamy.
Maybe ours is just higher because they're trying to pay for the huge remodel that they're doing. :lmao:
The store has been a mess for months just so that they can put a Starbucks (this will be the 4th within about 1/2 mile range) and a Pizza Hut.

Ours were labeled, and rang up, 1.82. .82 was still a good deal though. Has anyone used the smuckers coupon? I'm not sure if it's good on regular jam and jelly or just the all fruit spread.

Wareham, MA it's $1.66. Got three and used three coupons with no problem at all. I bought the reduced fat. Going to try to get a few more as the expiration dates on the jars are July 2009.
