Target.com taxing Disney gift cards

I had had issues with Target too. I only use gift cards in store so if there is an issue it gets fixed right there. I will do CC with them online as I know that I am getting a credit, it is going to only one place...back to my CC. I just bought a couple cards of Raise for Target. I am going to the store later to buy some Disney GC. If I use my redcard on top of the giftcard, will the redcard discount the entire purchase or just the portion going on the redcard?

It's a glitch..has been happening. Just keep trying...it eventually goes away. I bought 3 $100 gift cards the other day and when I added them in my cart and went to checkout ...there was tax. I signed in and the tax was gone.

Just the portion going on the red card.

Just an FYI, the tax appeared when I tried to buy $100, yet, as another poster said, I tried two $50 cards and no tax!

Now, can someone refresh my memory how I use a target gift card to purchase... Do I also get the 5% from the red?

I thought of was going out of my mind. I've order gift cards through Target for the last year and never had a problem. Now every other time I try to order I either get charged tax or there is a $1.00 charge levied to my account. When I called I got a customer service person who argued with that I was not getting charged. So frustrating!

as of yesterday afternoon, they charged tax on 2 $50 gift cards. Emptied/filled/emptied/filled/changed to 1 card......all taxed. Finally for a credit for the tax....took waaaaaaay too long. Did the stupid survey thing that pops up and mentioned, a few times, my displeasure with the glitch

Just sign in to your red card account, then add the Disney cards you want to your cart. You won't see your discount at first, but the 5 percent off will appear on the checkout screen. Then select pay with target gift card on the bottom right of the screen. Enter your gift card numbers from raise and hit apply. Easy!

hey, am I the only 1 who can't copy and paste my card number/pin number from Raise onto Target?
I had to actually type all those numbers....it was soooooooooo tiring. Next time I will have my man servant do it for me.

Using my iPad, I can copy and paste the Target e-gift card number from Raise, but I have to hand type in the pin number. And I don't have a man servant to do it for me!

I am pretty sure the website is checking the location of your IP address and is trying to estimate the tax based on that information. I tried three different browsers, and my phone, and all were trying to collect tax. I tried connecting a different way which moved my IP address to Michigan instead of Illinois and the sales tax went away.

I purchased a $100 card around 6pm and it went through fine with no tax. Tried to buy another at 8:30pm the same night and tax is being added again. They will credit you the tax post-order but it's definitely a website glitch that needs fixing.
