Target Cartwheel worth it?

I just did it for the first time today--saved me a whopping $1.50 on 8 items. I don't think the time I spent looking at the offerings, carefully looking for those items was worth the time...

I LOVE a good deal--I use a few coupons/wk, have the Target debt card, worked that SWA deal to get a companion pass, research big purchases to get the best deal, book & rebook travel plans until we get the best value for the $. But it just seemed like a lot of effort for little reward...

Cartwheel is hit or miss depending on if what you are buying that trip matches what has deals on Cartwheel.

I've found it's generally easier for me to first get the things I went into Target for, then open up the Cartwheel app and scan the UPC codes on the things I'm buying. If the UPC matches a current deal, I can add it to my barcode for scanning at the register.

Sometimes sale items will have a picture on the price card attached to the shelf that indicates there is a Cartwheel discount on the item in addition to the sale price. I appreciate when they do that!

I think it's worth it and so far since I started using it on Black Friday I've saved $78 so heck yeah! :)

I agree with the above route - I scan by bar code the items in my shopping cart or at least the bigger items or ones that feel like they'd have something in cartwheel. Today at Target there were several that were 20% off so it's worth a few minutes of my time to save several dollars each trip.

I've saved $45.81 since I've started using it. I just scan the barcode of an item when I put it into the cart and consider it a bonus if there's a coupon. I don't go out of my way to purchase a cartwheel product but I'll use the app if there's one available.

I think it is well worth it. Sometimes, I don't save that much, but sometimes I get a really good deal or two that helps out a lot! I've gotten some great discounts on baby items here and there. Sometimes, they do not have any deals I need. I think it is a lot like coupons, though. You won't save money if you buy the item(s) just because you have a discount for it.

I always search for the items I'm getting as I'm browsing the store or waiting in line. I keep some on there all the time like milk and eggs.

I've saved close to $100 in a year. While it may be a few cents here and there, it's definitely added up over time, which is nice to see. Not to mention, it takes the price of the item down, which in turn saves me tax :)

For me, it's worth it because I live almost next door to a SuperTarget and I'm in there a lot! I started using the app when it came out. It says I've saved $132. so far. I scan everything I put into my cart, it is a fun surprise when something you actually need is in there. This plus I have a Target Red Card. And I get their text coupons, and check the printable a Target coupons. You get the picture! Happy shopping!

Absolutely worth it. But to me even a small savings adds up and is worth it to me. Just make sure they scan your cartwheel BEFORE they total for payment or it doesn't work.

It's free, so every 5% here and there adds up. Sometimes I have also gotten good deals on kids' shoes or maternity clothes too. I also have the Target RedCard, so between Cartwheel and the RedCard, I do save a good amount.

Yes, it's absolutely worth it. I've saved $110 since January. I have a Sunday morning routine. That's when most of the new offers are added to cartwheel. It's also when I have the new flyers for stores, and the new coupons come out. So I check the Cartwheel offers and add any that are things I would realistically be buying. I know what I'm going to need to buy in a given week; if any of those items are on Cartwheel, I add them. Simple. I'm not going out of my way to buy certain items; I'm adding the items that I know I'll be buying. The rest of my Sunday routine involves checking the ads and making my shopping lists, and clipping coupons. For the amount of money I save, it's worth the hour or so of effort.

I use it all of the time to combine sales and coupons with their Cartwheel (those discounts all stack).

I use the app on my phone and I scan every item as I put it in my cart to make sure that I didn't miss a deal. It also helps to check and make sure that the Cartwheel discount applies to the item you picked (got to make sure it's the right size, flavor or brand).

Don't forget that Cartwheel discounts only apply to up to 4 items per discount (i.e. if you have 5 loaves of bread and the Cartwheel is for 20% off bread, you will only get 20% off 4 of those loaves).

I have my Cartwheel code printed out (it doesn't change - ever!) and I use it instead of trying to pull it up on my phone at the checkout. I just hand it over when I hand over my coupons.

I don't find it to be that much bother. What I find annoying is that Target will send multiple groups of mobile coupons, each with their own code. Having to scan 2-4 different mobile codes in order to cover everything in my transaction is a waste of time at the register. It would be much easier if they included all of those coupons under a single code.

Yes cartwheel is worth it. I have been using it for 8 months and have saved $120. I think the key for me is pairing it up with sales and coupons for even more savings

I've saved over $100. I just bought a lamp that had a 20% Cartwheel plus my 5% off for my Red Card. For cartwheel, a lot of the products are Target's Up and Up brand, so if that works for you, it's even more worth it!

I use cartwheel, but I also get text coupons from Target. I saved last week when we bought new comforter sets for both our bed and my daughters. I just look at both before I go into the store. Every little bit helps.

i got ya on this. i have been using it for a while and only saved like $24. what i find is more efficient is to check the target blog i use and when they have it listed i put the name of the item in the search box. you get more slots as friends join and you complete tasks, so i think i have 21 spots. when im on the bus every few days i go in and browse to add items. that way if im buying something i normally buy there anyway, like fruit or eggs, its already on my cartwheel and i don't need to check in store.

Add me to the list of little savings over time. My feeling is why not. It's not like it requires you to do stuff other than click a button (ibotta does, which is why I don't use that)

I signed up for and so far haven't found a thing to save extra money. I figure it was free and maybe at some point I'd find something......

I have saved $380 since July of 2013 so it certainly can add up!

Yes, I think it is. I do as many others do, scan the barcodes as I'm shopping and add the deals to my barcode. It's really easy to do, just scan as I put it in the cart and go. Friday DD18 and I went to Target, she needed to buy cat supplies (that's part of her monthly contribution to the household), food, litter, treats, I needed to get some trash bags for work and a few things for the house. They had the new lightweight cat litter in the big plastic tubs on sale for $19.99 and if you buy 2 you get a $10 gift card, they also had a 5% off deal with Cartwheel. So, we got the sale price, the gift card (which we used right away) and the extra 5% off. She gave me a high five and told me she wants me to teach her how to shop that way. lol I can't recall ever buying something because it was in the cartwheel app but I try to always use it when I can. Plus I buy Up & Up brand on many items so that helps too.

Thanks for the tip about printing the barcode out. It's such a hassle combing the apps with the mobile coupons (especially since I always get the cashier who can't scan a phone right!) that I often forget to use the Cartwheel. Now I can just hand it over with my other print coupons.

I've been using it maybe six months and am up to $10. Better than nothing. I shopkick at target (up to $80 in less than four months) so trying to use that, my shopping list app, and cartwheel can be a pain but I try to scan everything and see if there is an offer. I also put target coupons in passbook so it can be a hassle to have both barcodes for the cashier.

Different concept, but the Walmart Savings Catcher has added up much faster for me.
