Target 20% off coupon

I asked to speak to the. Manager. I was polite and said I had the 20% coupon and wondered if it could be used for the Disney cards and paid for on my Red Card. She was very nice. Said it would not. Work normally but she was happy to do it. I did tell her I wanted $5000. She was great (thought she'd squawk at the amount). She was very grateful I called ahead instead of just scooping them up from all over the store.

I may try this here in the Raleigh Durham area. Before I do, has anyone else done so, and if yes, which store?

well, I've found another option, that'll work for us.

BJ's also carries the Disney cards in increments of $25, 50, 100, and 150, for approx a 4% discount, and I can pay for them using my Marriott Visa card, so I can save a little, plus still get my Marriott Rewards points.

I'll be getting enough to pay for our DVC member dues and our upcoming cruise.

This worked for me without a hitch in Westland Michigan. The trick is you need to grab all different types of Disney card types and sizes in the store. Some came up with discount some did not. Some cards are Entertainment Cards and Some are Gift Cards. But the manager has the option to ring it up with 20% across the board. This manager was very nice.

We were able to buy $8,000 in cards!

Was this the Target across from the mall?

turned out $100 is the largest amount, the $150 was actually a package of three $50 cards. Picked up all I Ned at bj's.

I went on Sunday with my coupon. Did not work at first. Went w/ my receipt to customer service and got the 20%. The coupn excludes gift cards. The Disney cards show as Entertainment cards on the receipt which was my point. The manager had no problem with it.

Here's my story. As a previous poster suggested, I called the manager of a local target. I chose a Target that is older and close to a newer Super target because I think they might want the business more. I asked to speak to the manager. I told her that I wanted to use the 20% coupon to buy Disney entertainment cards. I explained that since red card and pharmacy rewards work on the ECs the 20% should also. I told her I wanted to buy $3000 worth of cards. She agreed and said if I came and she would let me use the coupon!

I called target visa to find out how much credit i had on my credit card after all my shopping this weekend. Only $2100, so I would have to put the rest on my Disney visa and get only 2% back. I went back to the electronics section to grab some cards first. I could only find $900 worth. I start to panic, but then I went up to the registers and they had plenty. I decided to get $4k worth. I go to check out and the woman in front of me pulls out a pharmacy reward card on a $75 dollar purchase. Now, I HAD a PRC I was going to use on Sunday along with my red card and the 20% to buy these Disney cards, but when I heard that it wouldn't work I went ahead and used it on other stuff. Of course, now I am standing there about to spend $4k and wanting that PRC sooooo bad! I star thinking about trying to buy hers for $10, but I didn't have the guts.

So, my turn to check out. I tell the cashier up front that I spoke with manager x and she that if the coupon doesn't work she said she would override. So she rings the cards up and coupon doesn't work. A male manager comes over and they talk. Then they call the manager I spoke with. I hold my breath as they all discuss and then she says "okay, I'll do it"--yeah! But then she kept having problems, we had to switch registers a couple times (so people behind me won't have to wait), cancel and re-ring the cards, and she had to take 20% off each individual card (81!). It took like 30 minutes to check out! Then my red card with the 5% discount. Then my Disney visa for the remainder and....declined! Now, I have plenty of credit on that card, so I asked her to run it again -declined! So I use my Starwood AMEX (saving those points for pre-cruise hotel). Final savings --$905 on $4k. yeah! I thanked the manager profusely of course!

I was psyched but driving home I was thinking if I had my PRC I would have saved another $160. I stopped for gas and my Disney Visa declined AGAIN! So I call them and they show two declined purchases for about $1k each (because they ran it twice at Target). Amex said because there has been a lot of cc fraud at Target they were just being careful with large purchases. I told them I had already put it on my AMEX but i was just disappointed because I wanted to earn the Disney reward points and she said SHE WOULD CREDIT ME THE REWARD POINTS! That's $40! Heehee!

So, overall a good day for me and Disney gift cards!

It worked! So happy. Went to customer service desk and just asked. 20% off and 5% off with red card! Thank you Target!

Ugh!! My mom bought us $800 in cards and they tried but it didn't work. Sounds like the cashier would have done it. I told her to go to customer service and see of they will credit the difference. I still have a 20% to try, but in the past have been limited to $350 on my debit red card. This is stressful!

The first target I went to said no way, no how, without budging an inch. So I didn't push too hard.

I left and called another target about 20m away. And spoke to a manager. She was more than happy to override and come on in. Very friendly and nice. The problem is- the computer wouldn't let her deduct $700 from my bill (I had $3500 in cards) saying the limit exceeded Max. She tried a few different things and couldn't get it to take. She apologized for not getting it to go through.
So my question for Anyone who was successful- what exactly did the manager do? To take off the hundreds of dollars?
I'm going to try again and maybe I can help them :)

They did give me another 20% coupon which I thought was nice of them.

Went into the Target in Mountain View, CA, and asked at Guest Services if I could do that (before I grabbed any). They said sure, and had to do it manually for each card, but I saved over $500!!

Manager there was Karynn, if anyone wants to ask there.

So frustrated, I called 5 targets in my area and they all said no. One manager said she would do it for 1 or 2 cards only. Another one was very rude and hung up on me when I thanked her. I would be fine if it didn't work across the board, but since other people are getting it I am pissed. We don't have a lot of money and I have had 2 cancers and 3 surgeries in the past year and a half, and this would have helped a lot. Oh well, rant over.

The way my store did it is a manual discount of 20% off. However the system won't let them take off over $100 so she did 4 $100 store coupon discounts manually. Then my 5% from the red card was applied.

So these managers may get in trouble by corporate. Because they are losing a lot of money on these disney gift cards.

I'm not going to try to work around the system to get the discount, but don't you think they know if they would get in trouble?
