Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

You so remind me of ..... me! I do the same thing with pictures, and now that we have gone digital, it is even worse!!! I take pictures of everything and everyone. In Russia, I took pictures of people's feet to show everyone the footwear over there...:goodvibes

Didn't your heart just flutter when you saw the paperwork. I was so psyched!!

Sorry everyone ended up sick. We were so lucky that no one from our group was ill.

Are you a scrapbooker?

Cheryl

I'm loving your pictures -- the holiday decorations on the ship are beautiful!

I'm bummed to hear about the sickness from the kids club -- we're hoping to take a Disney cruise in the next year or so because DD is now the age to use the club but I do not want to have to worry about sickness.

Quickly catching up, love the pics your son took! Waiting to see more...
There's loads coming! I have 2 weeks off from school, so I am going to try to get this tr done.

Yes the stomach bug was NASTY! Made for a very long day getting home.....we stopped at Walmart to buy a bucket for the car ride home. :scared1:

love all the pics!! tomorrow the ship gets back and HOPEFULLY there will be some news on my camera and i can start my TR!!! Otherwise.....i'll have a pictureless report!

OMG! That sounds awful! I would die if I had to travel like that. Any camera news?

I LOVED getting all the little notes, presents, and paperwork. It made me feel special. And I wish I had known about your son's shirt. I so wanted to get us all in matching outfits, but I couldn't get us all the right sizes in the same print.

I used to be a major scrapbooker. And then I started school with 2 kids...

The ship was gorgeous! I didn't think that we would get sick b/c they were really particular about hand sanitizing and handwashing. It is entirely possible that we got it here too, b/c the flu is going all over the state. The day I was sick, they sent 80 kids home from our high school. Maybe I gave it to the ship and to Jen!

So the stuff Imran and I discussed while being interrupted every 45 seconds by crazy children...

He started off by confirming that we had the square cake, cake flavors, the music selection, Palo dinner reservations, deck 7, and my floral. He said that my floral was some of the prettiest he had ever seen and that I was the 1st DCL bride to get hidden mickeys in bouquet. He was so excited about it, that he was going to get the ship photographer to take pictures of it to put into his planning book.

I was completely flattered by this :lovestruc, but DH felt that he was reading from a script. Yah, he tell that to all the women! I was a bit offended that DH said this to me, but later when Imran said that the captian was going to dock the boat backward so we had the view of Atlantis just for our VR, I was like you are so full of Sh!t. As much as I would like to think that you are doing that for me, ummm...I know that you'r not and that it is always like that.

So after that, I wasn't sure what to think of him. I kind of didn't know whether to believe him or not. But as the trip went on, he did bust his butt for us, so he totally won me over. Plus he put up with my children with a smile on his face! Even I can't do that, and they are MY children. :rotfl:

I did ask him about cake changes - I was really hoping for some hidden mickeys, but he said absolutely no way. Ok - I didn't expect as much and I was fine with it, but then I read Jen's tr and she got changes on her cake! BOO! Why can't they say just one thing and stick to it? Maybe she had a better chef or something.

I also asked about him setting out the BOXES of stuff that I brought. He said no problem at all. Okay I forgive you for the cake and the Atlantis bit.

We made arrangements for him to meet us in our room to go over the decor after dinner while the kids were in the club. That way he could HEAR me! Bless him, he will probably never have children after that.

YAY you started! SOunds great! Oh and he lied to you(surprise), I had hidden Mickey's on my flowers too. LOL

Oh yeah, i got the bit about having the captain back the ship in...so we could get beautiful pictures. But i agree, he didn't so much as blink an eye when i told him i had 5 boxes of stuff for the VR. :rotfl: and when we got moved into the lounge....and still had 10 kids throwing rose petals all over the place and grinding them into the carpet, he still had a smile on his face. So he lied to me about the sand ceremony, and he lied to you about the cake. WOnder what he lied to Shannon about??? :confused3

I thought you did! But it's been a while since I looked at your tr, so I didn't remember. Yah, the lying thing sucks. It's fine to flatter us and all, but come on, we aren't stupid.

---Jen, I wish I could see the lounge when you guys were done! :rotfl:

/
Oh I'm sure Tory or someoe got pics of the lounge after we were done.....rose petals EVERYWHERE! The kids sure got the idea of throwing the petals on the bride....and each other! :rotfl:

I just finished writing 3 large papers for the end of semester at school, and my brain is FRIED! So, I'll wait to actually write more about our trip for another day, but...

I did scan in some pics and wanted to post them. They are too funny!

Well, school has started and I never did get my tr done. We were sooo busy with Christmas in our studio and at our house, that I spent the rest of vacation just being a slug.

I have started working on some new projects for our at home reception. I am also arguing with my side of the family over doing another ceremony. Our VR on the cruise was just down right magical, and we don't want to do it again just for show. It was special for us, and that's what matters. We did want to do a blessing or something of the sort so we can get dressed up again. But we don't want to do the whole thing. My family wants otherwise. This is leaving me very confused and stressed! :confused3 I am going to have to find some happy medium. I really want a party to celebrate and no stress!

I also realized that I have like 2 months to get ready!! Ahhh! Where did the time go. So I just ordered all the pieces to make the invitations and get those started.

We also did our MK and Epcot photo shoot on Monday morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay:

We had so much fun, but it was really tiring and FREEZING cold. I got up at 2am to do my hair and make up so we could drive there. Due to the scheduling change, we couldn't get a hotel since I couldn't get babysitters for kids and animals.

We had Amy for our photographer, and she was amazing. I don't think we started off on the right foot though, b/c we were running a few minutes late, and we weren't dressed. So when we met her, I was dragging my dress behing me and I think her eyeballs about popped out of her head!!!

But she was really nice and helped us get dressed, and we were ready in less than 10 mins. So we were only 15mins behind schedule. She did warm up to us, but it was a bit awkward at first.

However, the experience was something that I will never, ever forget. There were several moments that were just amazing and magical and rank up there with exchanging our vows. I hope that the pictures are able to capture that! The castle is our happy place, and it was wonderful to be there with the man I love by ourselves.

Amy spent almost 4 hours with us, and there were some challenges in shooting in the kingdom. Did I mention that it was freezing? They had all the flowerbeds covered in blankets to protect the plants and heaters blowing over them. Plus there were loads of workers trying to take care of the heaters and plants. We didn't get to do as many out in front of the castle as I would have like due to this, and I am curious to see what Amy does with the ones she did take.

We brought our tripod and were planning on taking some pics around the Grand Floridian afterwards, but we took so many with Amy that we never even got our camera out of the car! I couldn 't believe it. Epcot was deserted and freezing cold. Italy was super windy and we tried to shoot inside the shops instead of outside. I can't wait to see our pics!

So when we got done with our first meeting with Imran, we had to do our emergency training. Here we are with our life vests on:

I didn't realize how many people they squish into such a small space during the drill. I have anxiety and panic attacks and claustrophobia. I don't like feeling "trapped". I am in therapy for this, but part of it stems from all the crap that has happened this past year. So when they squish us like sardines into a tiny space, I start to freak out a little. Thankfully, it didn't last long.

Then it was time to get sailing!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness. We started off at the party, but it was packed and no good picture spots, so we moved to the front of the boat.

Bye, bye terminal:

Mommy, are we moving yet? Are we going to hit that boat? Is it moving? Are we going? I can't see!
Cruise166-1.jpg

Nothing like hanging out of the ship!

Dan the man finally relaxes as we set sail!
Cruise155-1.jpg

Then they sounded the ship's horn. I had no idea that it was musical!!! It plays "When you wish upon a star!" It was awesome. Hearing that was so exciting. We were waving to the other ships and saying we're going to have a waaaaayyy better time than you are. That's right, blow that horn again and tell them Disney is way more fun!

We are actually leaving -

And our beautiful sunset before we head in for dinner:
Cruise156-1.jpg

It was like an omen that we were going to have a fabulous trip!

Then we dropped the kids off at the kid's club, and went to have dinner without them! :cool1: Woohoo! I'll actually have a chance to eat warm food for once this year.

Animator's was our dinner for the night, and I think that this was my favorite place!

This is the only food porn I got on the whole trip. I was too hungry the other times or dealing with fussy children.

Our great chef.

Then we went back to our room to try to meet with Imran again. This was what was waiting for us:

Too stinking cute!
Awww... thanks!

These were really fun, but expensive. My dh was pissed when we came home and he realized that they were printed on regular paper. They didn't even print them on photo paper!

I love your pictures! Your son is quite the little photography protégé ;) Can't wait to read more.

Hahaha! He loves cameras. I've got more coming.

yay! youre back with new pics!!!

Yay! I totally hate photobucket right now, b/c it keeps not uploading my pics, but I am slowly working on it. I want to photoshop some of the pretty pictures so they are softened or have borders, etc. but I haven't found the time yet.

I just realized I never posted my sneak peeks on here! DUH! Well, they are on the DCL brides thread -http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1766164&page=117

End of Day 1

So, I have no more pics of the night to share. We wandered around the boat a little more, unpacked, and got everything straightened out with Imran as to what decorations were going where.

The kids were tired, so Dan and them went and laid down in the cabin and watched cartoons while I begged and pleaded for them to go see the show with me! It was The Golden Mickeys. My pleading never did work, so I gave up and went by myself. By the time I got there, most of the seats were taken. So I sat up at the back of the theater on the right hand side. This turned out to be a mistake!

The show was really cute and sported a very talented cast. I love broadway, theater, and the such - especially after studying music most of my life. I was enjoying it, but I started to get a "funny in my tummy". The ship was sailing super fast and it was really rocking. Combine that with the fact that I ate more food at one meal than I had eaten in the entire past week, and it's not good. Then, for whatever reason, where I was sitting in the theater was really disorienting. Looking down at the stage while rocking back and forth made me feel like I was going to fall forward and throw up. Or throw up and then fall forward. Or just throw up. Ummm...I better get to a bathroom and fast!

After I rudely climb over lots of cute kids, I run out the door and make it just in time to the toilet. Uggghhh! I never get sea sick! While I'm there, I hear the end of the show starting, and I figure it's just best to go lie down. When I leave, the usher at the door asked if I was okay and was laughing at me. He said I looked green.

From there, I decide to go help Dan get the kids to bed and get our breakfast ordered for the next morning. We decide that we have to go see the princesses at the crack of dawn, so we turn out the lights. But...I couldn't sleep due to excitement, so I went down to the shops in my jammies. I found a little stuffed pirate Mickey for Drew and a stuffed Minnie in a sailor outfit for Mackenzie. By this time, we had hung up our fish extender, and it already had presents in it. When I got in the rooms, the kids were OUT! So I tucked their presents into bed with them. When they woke up the next morning, it was like Christmas had come early. They were convinced that Mickey had come to our room in the night and had delivered these himself! :rotfl::rotfl: We never told them any different!

Day 2 - VR DAY!!

We woke up just as the sun was rising - which is rare. I never, ever, ever get up early unless forced to do so for work. My DH went up to the top of the ship and took these pics as we were sailing towards Nassau:
Cruise193.jpg

Cruise197-1.jpg

We have more presents in our FE and the kids are just beside themselves. I also gave them their tote bags with some goodies in it, and my Drew decided he had to take it everywhere to show people what Mickey gave him during the night.
Cruise199-1.jpg

I rush us all to get dressed and decide to put on a cute sundress. Remember this for later.

We go down to see the princesses, and the new one - Tiana is there. I am super excited and can't wait to see her movie, but it doesn't come out for another week. The kids are like, "Who is that crazy lady? She's not a princess we know!" (Now she is Mackenzie's favorite! Well, maybe tied with Cindy.)

We were some of the first people in line, so we only had to wait a few minutes. I tried to snap some pics of the kids with the giant Christmas tree thinking that it might be Christmas card worthy. Of course, as soon as I snap it, they do the strangest things.

Cruise207.jpg

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Okay - take 2. Please pretend like you like each other for 2 seconds. It didn't really work. This was the best I could get.
Cruise206.jpg

Then we get to see Princesses!!! Yay! We finally get to meet Snow White.
Cruise210.jpg

Here is Drew getting his Mickey gifts out of his bag to share with her. He can be so stinkin' sweet sometimes.
Cruise211.jpg

Here's Kenzie telling Snow White that Cindy is her favorite. Sorry lady, but you just aren't as important.

Finally both of them go stand with her:
