Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

Congrats on graduation! Thank you for posing the pictures! You look so excited and happy!

I am thinking of making a RB pillow like you made. About how much material did you need to make it and about how big is it?

The update is great and I hope your ankle gets better soon!

First of, one giant:
:cheer2:
CONGRATULATIONS!
:cheer2:

on your graduation, way to go!
Your graduation pics are wonderful, the one with the graduation Mickey ears is so cute!!

Your DD's room is precious, you guys did an awesome job! I want one too! :rotfl:

I love the Mickey shaped kissing balls!
Thanks! I can't wait to use them. I just made the posts for them yesterday, and now I have to make the bases. I promise to post pics when I am finished.

The room is adorable, I am loving the flowers, and the pictures of you are fantastic, I love the Mickey pride one :thumbsup2!
Thanks!
love the new pics....i see you worked your orginal shoes into the grad pics!!! awesome!
I love those shoes! They are really comfortable. Depending on my stupid ankle, I may end up wearing those for the VR.

Update on the ankle is that is it nearly all better. I am able to walk on it and wear matching shoes again!:thumbsup2 I still can't run yet, which means that I have gained a full 15 lbs since the accident! :scared1: I am starting to freak out that I won't fit in my dress at this rate.

As for the pillow - it was really easy. I bought a yard of each kind of fabric, which was way too much. You could easily get away with 1/2 a yard. I traced the mickey ears onto the fabric and sewed them together. The hardest part is going around the ears. Also satin is slippery! I'm sure if you have any crafting experience, you'll be able to figure it out. Also, be sure to pin your ribbon in it before you sew it together, so that the ends of the ribbon end up inside the pillow. Good luck.

tanya, our ankles can match...racing down the stairs a few weeks bad to yell at the kids to stop beating on each other...i slipped and fell(no big surprise i trip over air)...screwed up my ankle pretty bad, no break but i can't move it as well as the other one....swelled up like a grapefruit, bruised and all...of all the times for dh to be away!!! i feel your pain...literally!

I hope that it gets better soon! I have put on 15 lbs since I haven't been able to exercise. I am terrified that I won't be able to fit into my dress!! Today was the first day that I attempted anything, and all I can say is ouch!:headache:

I don't have much to write about. We have been so busy with my Grandmother, court dates, and moving our studio that I haven't had time to stop and plan much of anything. I am starting to get concerned about money too. I haven't been able to work hardly at all since the accident, so that = less money. Then, I am about $30,000 in the hole after I have maxed out my insurance - also from the accident. This leaves me wondering about all the extras that I want! I am not happy about the photography on the ship, and I am thinking that I shouldn't spend the money on it. We can set up most of our own shots! I have tripods. That sounds completely ridiculous, but I would rather put that money towards our MK photoshoot. Is anyone else feeling this sort of economic strain?

aw hun- im sure everyone is feeling the 'pinch' at the moment. I can tell you we are- DF has been out of work for over half a year now and is a very highly qualified in his profession and is applying for all sorts of jobs. Here in the UK finding jobs is really hard at the moment. We have nothing saved up. We are having no help from our families and we really wanted to pay for the wedding in cash and not through loans / credit cards. However, if he does not get a job soon, we are afraid we will have to get a little loan if we cant get the cash fully so its a bit scary. I fully understand how you are feeling. Heres a hug  Im sure everything will get better soon and you will be able to work more.

yeah i hope so too...i have to break in my matron of honour shoes for next weekends wedding! im sure you'll get into your dress jsut fine...maybe it all went to your ****s! lol

while were not that bad off, things have been better here...luckly our mortgage is up for renewal so we've enrolled our current debt into it. and made a bigger payment but smaller than were paying on all our current debts.

Thanks for the hugs! And here's one back at ya!
My aunt and cousins live in England. Half of them live in London, and half live in Brighton. They think that the economy is slightly better over there, but my cousin Jeremy has been made redundant from his job and has been finding work on and off through a temp agency. I wonder if your fiance could do the same thing. My married cousin's hubby works for a bank, and so far he has avoided being made redundant, but they have made several rounds of layoffs, and he is really nervous!

I hope that it works out for you guys. A loan isn't the end of the world, as long as it is something you can afford to pay back. Here's hoping you won't have to go that route - pixiedust:

I found my promise ring!!!!!! It's been lost for like over a year! I don't know what happened to it - we think that my DD got a hold of it. And just like it mysteriously disappeared, it mysteriously returned. It was placed back on top of my jewelry box with no explanation. I swear that she or my DS found it and put it up there. No one will fess up to it, but it is back! So excited.

I hope this means that our luck is turning around!

that is so exciting that your promise ring came back... maybe it was your fairy godmother who found it lol! Someday someone will fess up I'm sure, but for now it must be nice to know its back and safe:goodvibes

So, one of the joys of living in FL in the summer is all of the thunderstorms and lightening we get every day. We'll, we had lightening strike our fence several weeks ago, and it knocked out our phone line completely. The phone company had to come run us a new line, and they also ran us a DSL line!!! They finally laid the line up the road, so we have finally joined the 21st century! We are so excited. I can't even tell you. It is so nice to be able to work on our website and pictures from home! Plus I get to actually read everything on the DIS without it taking hours to load a page.

One of the things that I have done recently is get to go to my graduation party/ happy birthday party for my Grandmother. The doctors said she wouldn't make it to her birthday, and she is still going strong. Here's a few pics from that day. We only took a few since we were so busy running around.

We also finally got to go to the beach and take a family shot. This is what we were trying to do when we got in our accident. We have several nice ones in front of the water, but there is always someone making a face. Here's the best one we got that day:

I typed up a really long post, and poof! It disappeared. So here it is again.

Watching my Mickey ticker move across the screen has made me realize that I have so much to do in a short amount of time!

So I started working on some projects again. First off, I made the posts for my mickey heads. I still have to make the bases. I have made them so they will come apart b/c I am trying to bring them on the boat with me. This is what the post looks like:
Tanyastuff011.jpg

Then I started making us tote bags for our cruise. I want them for like beach bags.
Before:
Tanyastuff008.jpg

After:
Tanyastuff018.jpg

Well, it's during really. I have monogrammed a "D" on mine for my last name, and I have only basted the Mickey heads on. I still have to sew around the edges of them.

I also had a productive trip to the Dollar Tree today. I love that store!
First I got 8 tall glass vases and 8 small vases to use for centerpieces with the floral gel for our at home reception.
Tanyastuff014.jpg

Then I got some goodies to put in the kid's bags:
Tanyastuff015.jpg

And then - I found these monogram stickers with the scrapbook stuff. So I got us "D"s for our last name and stuck them on my mickey heads made with card stock and my mickey whale of a punch. I am going to use them for envelope seals on my STD's and Invites and on our favor bags.

I also have made us magnets for our cruise stateroom door for FREE! What's better than free?!

I went onto the DISigns thread and got some pics from there and wrote my info on them. I printed them out on cardstock and laminated them. Then I used some leftover real estate sticky magnets and stuck them on the back. Tada! Free door bling.
Tanyastuff010.jpg

My kids like them so much that we made some for their bedroom doors too.

And speaking of kids...I can't post pics without some of my cuties.

Is anyone else feeling this sort of economic strain?

Oh yeah! big time! We had to switch from our balcony cabin to a gty cat 12!! My entire guest list in in balcony's on deck 6...and we're stuck in the bows of the ship. :sad2: AND worst....we had to switch from CC to Deck 7 for the VR. I'm convincing myself it's for the best. I know what you mean about the photos...I hope you can figure something out!

OMG that is too cute!!! Is she sitting on the pedastal or did you photoshop that?? It's ADORABLE!!!

Love the mickey balls....i want some of those!!

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: less than 100 days for us!!

We too are category 11. I originally was going to get like a 5 or a 6 b/c Kim, Dan's sis was going to go with us. But she can't afford to go either, so then we bumped down to the cheapest category. Ugh! I wish things would pick up.

No one has extra money for pictures, so our studio has slowed way down. Plus the people who have ordered are getting way less than they used to. I can't blame them though, b/c we are doing the same thing. I am a photographer, and I know how important pictures are, but yet, I am seriously debating paying a photographer on the ship. It just seems like a lot of money for very little. Anyway, I hope things pick up for both of us!

I hope that your deck 7 wedding will be just as beautiful, if not more so than your original plans.

Oh - Kenzie is really sitting on that pedestal. The backdrop is greenscreened aka photoshopped, but she sat up there for me!

wow lady you are so crafty!!! i love the family pic! and of course the kiddo ones! and grandmothers surprise us eh? mine does all the time! they've sent her home to die i don't know how many times, and thankfully she proves em wrong!

My grandmother is going downhill, and it has been tough to watch. But at least she is surprising all of us too!

Here are my recent purchases. I don't really need to be spending money, but it was a small amount. I found these for really cheap at Wrap With Us online.

The first is for a centerpiece. I am going to decorate it with vines and little mice.

This is a castle cake topper that's like 9 1/2" tall. I found it for $9.99
6052-white.jpg

I got it b/c our trial run with the Wilton castle cake was a mess. That thing is more trouble than it is worth. Plus we would have to transport it about 40 minutes away. It won't make it!:upsidedow We even reinforced it, but it is a disaster waiting to happen.

SOOOO...plan B is to get a Publix cake. I still want a Disney themed one, so I have to talk to them to see what they can do. If anyone has any pics of publix wedding cakes, please post them!

We want to put this castle on as a topper. It's pretty cheap. I am terrified of breaking my Lenox one out there with the wind and cement. I would like to try to go with a Happily Ever After Cake, or see if they could create some variation of a mickey stamp out of icing.

We would only need 2 tiers though.

Surfing the web with my nifty new DSL has made me discover all sorts of things that I want, but have no need for. This is when I can get really carried away with the wedding stuff.

I found these gorgeous unity candles that are handmade! I so desperately want one. I couldn't use it b/c we went that route before. We couldn't even light it since it was so windy outside! Even with the glass hurricane shade, when we finally did get it lit, it blew out.

I do love the idea of a sand ceremony, but I'll probably through out the sand afterwards b/c it reminds me of carnival crafts I did as a kid. Anyway, check these out. They come with matching tapers.

Then you can get this stand to go with it:

LOVE IT!

Another want that I don't need is a Mickey wedding band. I have looked high and low for one, with no way of getting one. I found this in an online pawn shop, and if I could size it, I would buy it. It is a real Disney ring, so I wonder where it came from
