So at this point, I have managed to get the kids dressed. Drew is over his jacket being mutilated but has moved on to the fact that he is tired and they made his bed back into the couch. Kenzie wants to put on makeup and do it herself, and when I tell her no - I get the attitude:
She does this funny thing where she puckers her lips up. I can tell the kids are not going to do a thing that they are supposed to.
In the middle of all of this, we get more presents in our FE. So I go out to see what we got and see if there is anything to bribe our children with. Across the hall from us is a family trying to get into their room, but my dress is taking up the entire hallway, so they are waiting for me to move. The little girl pops her head out and stares at me and says, "Whoa...Momma, she's a princess. That must be why she keeps getting all those presents at her door!"

She was so stinkin' cute and that just made my day!
Back in the room, I get my Drew-man ready:
He's so cute too!
After that, Imran come in to check on us and the button situation and to let us know that the wind has really picked up outside. He wants to know if I have to have the aisle runner down. YES!!! I spent hours on that thing. Cut it and tape it down if you have to. In the end he did cut it off the roll and stapled it to the red carpet. Yay!
He also says that everyone is set up and they are almost ready. Dan asks if he can go set up the cameras and get that ready to go, and Imran said that was no problem.
Before Dan goes to leave, I tell him to not forget his vows that are tucked in the vanity drawer. Imran looks at me with a suprised look. Vows? What vows?
Didn't Bree tell you? I guess in all the madness with the kids yesterday, I never got around to the actual ceremony. Dan and I each wrote our own vows to read to each other. Imran said that they never deviate from the script (lie again! Check out Jen's vows.) And he would have to get the captain's approval for it. He said it was most likely too late for that, but he would go ask.
At this point I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or be angry. After 10 years together, I have very specific things I want to say to my husband!!! Dan says he'll talk to the captain about it too.
He goes off to set up and I ask Drew if he remembers what his job is. Carry the rings. Got it. Okay - umm if I put the real rings on this pillow, can you not touch them, play with them, or pull them off? Just like we have discussed a million times. Got it. Okay, repeat it. Tell me what I just said.
He's really got it. And he is so excited and proud to have a really important job.
Dan comes back in the room and said to explain to Imran that we are the ones reading the vows, and not the captain reading them to us. He thinks that they will gives us our own point in the ceremony to let us do it.
Then he looks at the rings on pillow and asks if I'm crazy. I've got my diamond eternity band tied on there, and his mickey ring - and they are on there good. He says that Drew is too young to have that job and the rings need to come off and go in his pocket. This gets Drew upset because he swears that he can do his job - no problem.
Sooooo...Dan bets me that I have to cook dinner (I never, ever cook) that Drew is going to lose a ring. I shake on it and tell him he's crazy. Drew's old enough to be responsible.
We ask if anyone has to go potty. No. Okay. It's now time for Dan and the kids to go.
Imran says he'll come back and get me in a few minutes.
I start to get really nervous and I have butterflies in my stomach. I decide to sit down for a minute and sip on some water.
Next thing I know, Dan and Imran are at the door.
Did you tie both rings on the pillow? Yes, you saw me knot them on there. Why?
Drew got out on deck and there's no ring.
Panic!!!
Which ring?!?!
The Mickey ring.
Oh, thank God it's not the diamond ring. Whew! Then I don't care. Relief has swept over me. Dan starts laughing saying I told you so. We could care less. Imran is freaking out!
I'm sure that he has had to deal with some bridezillas before because he says that they will wait until we find the ring. Drew literally walked only down the hallway. However, our room was at the front of the ship, and the deck was at the back. And that is a LOOONG hallway. So off goes Imran in his white dress uniform crawling around on the floor looking for the ring.
Dan and I tell him it is not necessary, but he keeps looking up and down the hallway. We finally convince him that it is not an expensive ring, and that it can be replace. We'll just use Dan's original wedding band.
So off they go again to leave me by myself.
