Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

Cruise416.jpg

This is such a cool pic...The angle makes you look like you are flying or something...very cool!

I'm loving seeing all these pics. I'm glad that you were able to get so many great photo ops!!

And I'm loving your dress more and more everytime I see it! Beautiful!

Awww...thanks so much! I love the angle of this pic too. I also like that our camera set of their studio flashes below me! LOL! It looks like I'm floating with all the light.

What jewelry store is it? B/c I have a wrap that goes around my engagement ring that we got from Kay jewelers, and it has been a nightmare. It cost about as much as my actual diamond and it has only 1/2 the carat weight of little round stones. My prongs on this one snag on stuff all the time, and I have even lost a few diamonds b/c of it. I've had it fixed like 5 or 6 times, and every time it comes back worse too!! I'm ready to just give up on it. You would think for the amount of money that these stores make that they could hire jewelers who knew what they were doing!!

I hope you get yours fixed for good.

charm jewellery. one of our main companies up here. the band broke at disney i noticed it inline at asmovies going to parks. it was only 299 when we got engaged, and it cost we 180 to re shank it!!! then it came back with the diamond twisted, scratched, - which i apparently caused- um no- um then they lost a diamond!!! then it came back with one of the prongs for the diamond catching my clothes. after time number 4 i called head office- finally their territory mgr called me and applogized told me to bring it to him. i finally got it back the week of christmas! and then saw the horrible job they did. they completley changed it. it has three diamonds on each side in the band then like a little cluster thats raised and has four supports on it. one is the orginal width and the other three, one has a cut in it, 2 have dents and the other three are thinner. now if he was just fixing a sharp prong why are the supports dammaged? i took it in and he thinks he can offer me another one- alth will have to check. but i dont knwo if i want to give mine up. plus what abouth the 180 i jsut sunk into it? he insited i take it to him across town(over the bridge) and to his jewler. it looks worse! im heartbroken. then he started changing his story, well i dont know this rings history. um yeah well im not lying here you can clearly see this doesnt look the same! good lord.

now off to see your new pics...thanks for letting me vent! and i agree, the money they take in- customer service apparently means nothing these days which i dont get since i worked c/s for ten years! gues a lot has cahgned since i had my kids.

It sounds awful! I've heard other people have the same issues though with different companies. I hope they can fix your original ring.

Now on to more pics! LOL!

We ran down to the theater to get these pics with my other man - Walt!

THEN...we finally took the elevators to go up on deck.

Remember me saying, "Hey, I can see my reflection!"? Well, here's DH with the camera. "Hey, I can see your reflection!"
Cruise499.jpg

Cruise502copy.jpg

And finally out in the sun! I so wanted these pics by these Mickey Buttons by the smoke stacks, but they were closed of b/c they were painting! So we tried one by the pool, but the gazebo got in the way. Plus I wanted the big Mickey head in them.
Cruise504.jpg

So we climbed up a bunch of stairs - which is increadibly difficult to do in that dress, plus it was wet and windy, and we investigated if the paint was dry, and well - it was!

So I started chucking things out of the way and we got these pics:

Well, it's kind of hard to be sneaky in a big white dress, so by this point some workers figured out what we were doing and came to shoo us out of there. I begged for one more pic of DH and I b/c I wanted one of the two of us with the mickey icon, and the crew member said he felt so bad that it was our wedding day and he had to ask us to move. So he said he would take our picture if we would leave then. Okay - Hand man camera.
Can you see us and the mickey icon?
No, you actually have to look through the view finder. Well, don't come closer, back up. Are you looking through the view finder? Did you push the button to focus it? No the focus is not on the lens. That's the zoom. Dear lord, we could have taken it ourselves already. Okay, just push the damn button.
Cruise514.jpg

:rotfl:

So much for my Mickey icon.

You rebel, you-moving stuff to get a picture!! I love it!
Those pics turned out AWESOME! I love, love, love them!!! Sorry that you didn't get the one with the icon!:guilty:

By this point we were incredibly sweaty and hungry again. So we found a seat in the shade, and I hiked my dress up and kicked my shoes off, while my wonderful DH got me a soda and some pizza for us to share. It was so nice being dressed up with just the two of us and having some quiet, romantic time. It was very sweet.

Then it was time to go pick up the beasts. Oops, I mean children. I needed to get them dressed and I was hoping for a nap for at least Mackenzie, b/c things can get pretty ugly when they get over tired.

Of course, they were super wound up and over tired when we get to the kids club. They knew that this was our wedding day, and Drew said he was so excited to be my Prince Charming. :cloud9:

Once we get back to the room, Dan realized that somewhere between being on deck and getting the kids back to our room, that the button on the front of his tux popped off!!

It only has one button on the front and it's gone. So I call Imran! He says to check his tux pocket out and everything, that it should have an extra one some where. Dan thought for sure he had seen it and brought it with him, but after over turning everything - no button.

He leaves me with the kids, who have chocolate milk close to my dress! And I can't move around in that small room without being bustled either, so I just plop on the bed and tell the kids to keep their distance. He goes out looking everywhere for the button, but the ship is spotlessly clean. No luck.

Imran calls and asks if we have found it. Ummm...no. What to do? So then he sends up a sewing kit. It's really cute and has Tinkerbell on it. But the button inside is a cheap WHITE plastic one. Umm...that won't work either.

So then Imran himself comes to our room to check out the problem. I show him DH's jacket. He didn't realize that it was THE button on the outside of the jacket. He said he was going to try to find another one and he would send it up.

10 mins. later, housekeeping knocks on the door, and wouldn't you know it? It's another Tinkerbell kit with the WHITE button! GGRRRRR!!! I brought needle and thread with me. I just need a black button.

So I start scouring all the clothes looking to see whose clothes I can cut up.

Dan's jacket has one button on each sleeve. I guess I could cut those off in desperation. Then I finally think to check out Drew's jacket. He doesn't have an extra button any where either. But his sleeves have 2 buttons on each side that are just for show. Sorry buddy, but we have to cut one off of each side!

Of course these are tiny compared to Dan's, but if it will hold his jacket closed for the ceremony, then I don't care.

So I start mutilated DS's jacket, which gets him all upset. Then I finally sew it on DH's jacket, and much to my relief it works!!

You rebel, you-moving stuff to get a picture!! I love it!
Those pics turned out AWESOME! I love, love, love them!!! Sorry that you didn't get the one with the icon!:guilty:

Don't mess with me and my pictures now! I'll do whatever it takes to get a shot. LOL! I guess I'll have to try and photoshop Dan into the one of me.

Note to self..make sure DH has an extra black button and sewing kit! :thumbsup2

Yes! Safety pins, super glue, bobby pins, and needle and thread were all essential.

The worst part about this story is that when we were frantically packing all of our stuff to leave, I go to stuff his jacket in the garment bag, and low and behold, out of a little hidden pocket inside his jacket falls the spare button! :lmao: Ahhh...such is our luck.

So at this point, I have managed to get the kids dressed. Drew is over his jacket being mutilated but has moved on to the fact that he is tired and they made his bed back into the couch. Kenzie wants to put on makeup and do it herself, and when I tell her no - I get the attitude:
Cruise543.jpg

She does this funny thing where she puckers her lips up. I can tell the kids are not going to do a thing that they are supposed to.

In the middle of all of this, we get more presents in our FE. So I go out to see what we got and see if there is anything to bribe our children with. Across the hall from us is a family trying to get into their room, but my dress is taking up the entire hallway, so they are waiting for me to move. The little girl pops her head out and stares at me and says, "Whoa...Momma, she's a princess. That must be why she keeps getting all those presents at her door!" :rotfl::love:

She was so stinkin' cute and that just made my day!

Back in the room, I get my Drew-man ready:
Cruise549.jpg

He's so cute too!

After that, Imran come in to check on us and the button situation and to let us know that the wind has really picked up outside. He wants to know if I have to have the aisle runner down. YES!!! I spent hours on that thing. Cut it and tape it down if you have to. In the end he did cut it off the roll and stapled it to the red carpet. Yay!

He also says that everyone is set up and they are almost ready. Dan asks if he can go set up the cameras and get that ready to go, and Imran said that was no problem.

Before Dan goes to leave, I tell him to not forget his vows that are tucked in the vanity drawer. Imran looks at me with a suprised look. Vows? What vows?

Didn't Bree tell you? I guess in all the madness with the kids yesterday, I never got around to the actual ceremony. Dan and I each wrote our own vows to read to each other. Imran said that they never deviate from the script (lie again! Check out Jen's vows.) And he would have to get the captain's approval for it. He said it was most likely too late for that, but he would go ask.

At this point I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or be angry. After 10 years together, I have very specific things I want to say to my husband!!! Dan says he'll talk to the captain about it too.

He goes off to set up and I ask Drew if he remembers what his job is. Carry the rings. Got it. Okay - umm if I put the real rings on this pillow, can you not touch them, play with them, or pull them off? Just like we have discussed a million times. Got it. Okay, repeat it. Tell me what I just said.
He's really got it. And he is so excited and proud to have a really important job.

Dan comes back in the room and said to explain to Imran that we are the ones reading the vows, and not the captain reading them to us. He thinks that they will gives us our own point in the ceremony to let us do it.

Then he looks at the rings on pillow and asks if I'm crazy. I've got my diamond eternity band tied on there, and his mickey ring - and they are on there good. He says that Drew is too young to have that job and the rings need to come off and go in his pocket. This gets Drew upset because he swears that he can do his job - no problem.

Sooooo...Dan bets me that I have to cook dinner (I never, ever cook) that Drew is going to lose a ring. I shake on it and tell him he's crazy. Drew's old enough to be responsible.

We ask if anyone has to go potty. No. Okay. It's now time for Dan and the kids to go.

Imran says he'll come back and get me in a few minutes.

I start to get really nervous and I have butterflies in my stomach. I decide to sit down for a minute and sip on some water.

Next thing I know, Dan and Imran are at the door.

Did you tie both rings on the pillow? Yes, you saw me knot them on there. Why?
Drew got out on deck and there's no ring.

Panic!!!

Which ring?!?!

The Mickey ring.

Oh, thank God it's not the diamond ring. Whew! Then I don't care. Relief has swept over me. Dan starts laughing saying I told you so. We could care less. Imran is freaking out!

I'm sure that he has had to deal with some bridezillas before because he says that they will wait until we find the ring. Drew literally walked only down the hallway. However, our room was at the front of the ship, and the deck was at the back. And that is a LOOONG hallway. So off goes Imran in his white dress uniform crawling around on the floor looking for the ring.

Dan and I tell him it is not necessary, but he keeps looking up and down the hallway. We finally convince him that it is not an expensive ring, and that it can be replace. We'll just use Dan's original wedding band.

So off they go again to leave me by myself.

okay yay for pics- but man holy stress lady!!! sounds more stressful than my wedding and i had a lot of stuff go down. lol btw i hope they sort this ring thing out.

oh and i dont cook either- i nuke. lol

i love the pics with walt!

i cant get over how much went down and you havent even done your renewal yet.

More great photos! Sorry about the stress with the button and the rings. Geesh, I think I would've lost it by the time the second person showed up with the little sewing kit!!!

Good grief...my blood pressure went up just from reading all this. I honestly don't know how you managed to stay sane through it all, and you hadn't even made it to the ceremony yet-Bless your heart!!

I nuke too! I laughed sooo hard when I read this!! Finally someone else who didn't inherit the Martha Stewart gene.

I have to say through all of this, I was unbelievably calm. I didn't have to worry about the alcoholics in my family crashing our party, or dealing with my mom's drama - I love her dearly, but I need my distance. I was actually quite calm and relaxed.

There's still more to go before the ceremony gets here though!

Sooo...I sit and wait and get really anxious. I wonder how many people are going to be watching us. The deck isn't as private as I thought it was going to be. People up on deck 9 can look down and watch. I also start to get really emotional about what I am going to say to my husband. I am super excited to have made through these past ten years. And it has not been easy. We have had our share of heart aches, fights, money problems, and more. We've lost children, lost our home to a hurricane (while we were in it), and lost jobs. And through it all, we have always stuck it out by each other's side.

I take a deep breath and relax and then there is a knock at the door. It's Imran. He says it's time. Not to forget my vows either. There is a point in the ceremony where the captian will pause and give us a turn to let each of us read them to each other. Whew! Thank goodness for that.

So we make the long walk down to the stairwell by the secret deck. He said that it is too windy for my rose petals. (Thank goodness I didn't pay Disney $100's of dollars for them then!) I see my bags of petals sitting by the doorway and one of them hasn't even been opened. I secretly think to myself to check for it when all my stuff gets returned later.

He also tells me that the ring pillow has been confiscated from my son. My ADHD child doesn't want to hold it. LOL! I should have known. My vision of my children lovingly walking side by side is going to turn into a reality check real soon.

He gets my train all fluffed out and goes to get my kids back inside since they are running around the ceremony cite like wild hooligans.

Then Dan comes in with Drew and says Drew has to go potty. Everything comes to a screeching halt yet again!

"Do you really have to go potty?"
"Yes, I can't hold it!"
"This is why I asked before we left the room."
"I know, but I didn't have to go then. I have to go NOW!"

Okay - Imran where is the closest bathroom? He says our room. Are you kidding me???? Our room is on the opposite side of the ship. So off Dan and Drew go running down to our room.

Next thing I know, Mackenzie goes running after them. I can very well chase after her in my dress. Grrr... I go yelling down the hall to Dan to wait up for her. This means that I have moved from my spot and my train is all messed up again.

This is where the OCD in me starts to come out! :rotfl:

After a quick few minutes, everyone comes back and Dan declares that Drew seriously had to go to the bathroom. I should have taken it as a warning of the evil virus with which we were all about to get bombarded.

So Dan goes back outside and gives me a wink, and I am sure that we are both thinking 1) We are the ones who wanted our children in this! and 2) We're glad this isn't the 1st time around!

So Imran tells the kids that since it is too windy for the rose petals to stay on the ground that he has another idea. He gives them handfulls of petals and tells them to throw them when they get out the door. My DD keeps dropping them and trying to pick them up so she doesn't "make a mess". Except that in the process she usually drops more. :lmao:

I tell her it's okay to make a mess today, and that there are plenty of petals.

Imran goes out to cue the pianist and then it is finally time to get this show on the road!! :thumbsup2

Up next: THE CEREMONY

Your daughter just brings a smile to my face! I love her pout face! Too stinking cute (of course I am sure that to live with it it might only be cute once in awhile...) And the story about how she would drop the petals and pick them up...only to drop more! :rotfl:
I love the Mickey Pin fro Drew instead of a bout. Awesome idea!

hahaha- no martha here! lol thankfully allan is a really good cook and enjoys it. i handle two meals a day i think he can do supper when he's not away. lol

god you really were calm! all i keep thinking is all of you getting sick! blech! and im so glad you guys got to say your vows!!! im tearing up just reading what you wrote- let alone beign there!

The Ceremony

So here is my DS and DH out on deck when they 1st realize the ring is missing.
Cruise042.jpg

Here is the set up:
Cruise023.jpg

Cruise027.jpg

It was too windy to put these along the aisle - the wind kept blowing them over, so they were put at the back end of the aisle where they were protected by the wall.
Cruise035.jpg

The cake table with my silk bouquet on it:
Cruise046.jpg

Thank goodness my DH knows how OCD I really am and was checking to make sure everything was set up right. He gets to the sand ceremony and realized that there was no sand in the jars!!!
So here he is with the kids getting it ready. Thank goodness.
Cruise024.jpg

And the completed set up:
Cruise043.jpg

The captain arrives:
Cruise030.jpg

And we are finally ready to get this show on the road!!

The pianist starts playing Kiss The Girl from The Little Mermaid. This is one of our favorite movies and one of Dan's favorite songs and scenes. It's time for the kids to walk down the aisle.

Cruise104.jpg

Imran had given them handfulls of rose petals to throw in the air. It was really cute. Mackenzie made it about halfway up the aisle and then got off course and started picking them back up again.

Another thing too - I couldn't see this at the time since I was still inside - was that there were all these seagulls flying overhead. They kept trying to shoo them away before the ceremony according to my DH. But when the kids threw the petals, swarms of them came back thinking that they were throwing food in the air. While this may sound scary - like a scene out of The Birds - or something, it really wasn't. Many of our guests say that it looked choreographed and beautiful- as if someone released them all when the kids walked out.

Next it was my turn. Except that no one ever came back to fix my train on my dress. I sooo wanted it fluffed but couldn't do it myself, and I am back there kicking it with my foot in an effort to fluff it out. Imran opens the door and the pianist is playing A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes and it's time for me to go. I shake my head at him kind of wide-eyed and nodding back at my train, but he doesn't get it. So everyone is looking and waiting for me - I am kind of around the corner so they can't see me yet. I decide it is now or never. I'm not going to hold up this whole thing again over my train. Except that the OCD part of me is obsessing about it. Then I actually walk out the door and over the threshold and something magical happens! :wizard:

It was amazing! I took in the ceremony set up and the view for the first time. I saw my DISboard friends standing there, and my children, and then my DH's face. It was so full of emotion. I took another step and then all these seagulls kind of swept in a little closer to me and then they all flew away! It was breath-takingly beautiful. A moment that was created by God and nature. Words cannot describe it. But at that moment I felt like my loved ones who have passed away were watching over us and were there with us. Everyone that was watching the ceremony took a deep breath in when it happened and then "oohed" when they flew off.

I walked down the aisle towards my husband, and it was even more special than the first time I did it 10 years ago.

You can see some of the sea gulls in a few of these pics:
Cruise568copy.jpg

It's funny b/c I really wanted to do a dove release b/c of what the birds symbolize. Disney used to do them, but recently stopped. And well, I can't do it on a ship! So this was my "dove release".
