Do you tan before you go on vacation so that you don't burn?
I thought you would still burn in the sun even if you tanned in a tanning bed? That isn't true?
Same here!Never. I slather on sunscreen while I'm on vacation so I don't burn.![]()
No, it's true. There is no such thing as a base tan that will prevent burning.
I started tanning at 15 for SAD and actually worked at a salon for two years. I am now adamantly against tanning beds for myself. I have not tanned in two years and I still have new moles popping up all the time. I also see people all the time where I currently work who look much older than they are because they are frequently outdoors without sunscreen. I do know there are some people who need UV light for medical purposes - I had a customer who actually had a type of cancer (I can't remember specifics - either a bone or skin cancer) and his doctor prescribed tanning. I think people can do what they want, but they should be fully aware of the risks.
Ok thanks! I guess I stick to slathering lotion.
I do have a question for those that use the tan in a can. Whats a good one to try?
