Ok, so my legs REFUSE to get tan and I'm really hoping to get to wear a skirt this weekend, seeing as how it's going to be in the 80's!
Does anyone know of a good spray-on, lotion, foam, whatever! tan in a can/bottle???
I just want to use it on my legs, so it can't be something that will make me drastically darker.
I know Sally Hansen makes an "airbrush" tan for legs, which is basically an aerosal spray can...has anyone used this one? Suggestions needed! Thanks!

I use tans in a can exclusively along with late afternoon sun (after 4pm) and it works wonderfully.

Just buy whatever you'd like; I've tried them all from the generic to the high end price ones, and the trick for me is to mix the lotions with equal part of my regular Bath and Body works lotion. It goes on really smoothly and with 2-3 applications over a weekend, you'll be set!
I was a sun worshiper when I was younger and I'm a bit paranoid about it now--I really restrict my actual sun time.

The trick is not so much the tanning product--it's the condition of your skin. Make sure: 1. you've shaved 2. moisturized so the skin is all ready to accept the tanning product--it will not go on dry tough skin well. 3. You give yourself "practice" time. It will be so much easier and effective the 5th time you do it than the first.

Enjoy!!

might I also suggest exfoliating before tanning?
exfoliate your legs, THEN shave (trust me - some products HURT if you shave before) then tan-in-a-can

that way you don't get "dirty" looking knees

Edited to fix my horrible spelling

Exfoliating is a very good suggestion. I haven't tried too many tannng lotions, but I have had good luck with Mary Kay's tanning lotion. You might give it a try if you know someone who sells it.

I second using an exfoliator first.

I use Neutrogena Fair to Medium spray on. Its light enough that if you make a mistake its no big deal. I've tried all different kinds, and I like Neutrogena's the best.

Another vote for proper exfoliation and moisturizing first!!

I am a fan of Lancome's Flash Mousse! Best I've tried....and that includes many products!

Thanks for the replies! I will be steering clear of Sally Hansen...I do not want pancake makeup legs! Haha....
I'm going to try tanning today...if that doesn't work...it's off to CVS!

One more thing!! Always take a piece of kleenex or toilet paper and wipe my knees and ankles afterwards to get off the excess. Even when you don't mean to, these places (because they are rougher) tend to get too much of the lotion on them. Wiping them off helps a lot!

Also, I have much better luck with the tanning products that have bronzers so you can see where you are putting it.

I LOVE Neutragena Instant Bronze Foam. The foam is a lot easier to use than spray or lotion (for me anyway). Also, it's tinted, so it's easier to see where it goes. Definitely exfoliate first. And moisturize your hands, elbows, knees, feet or anyplace that tends to be drier.

One thing that helps a lot, no matter what kind you use, is to exfoliate your legs really well before applying the tanner, and then be sure to rub the tanning lotion in REALLY, really well. Makes a big difference!

edited to add: Oops, it might help if I read the other replies first, huh? :p I recommend the Mary Kay kind, as well. I've always had good results with it.

The Ombrelle tanner is my favorite and ranked highest in a list I saw of self tanners, but when I can't find it, I'll use the Nutragena.
