Hi, we are a family of five (kids aged 13,11 & 9) staying at Poly in a few weeks time and would like to try the 'Ohana bread pudding and pulled pork nachos from the Tambu Lounge. Since this is a bar/lounge, would we get dirty looks if we bring in the kids at around 9pm? Also, is it difficult to find a table that can accommodate all five of us at that time?

You won't get dirty looks. The issue is going to be more that from 4-midnight, Tambu tends to be packed to the gills, largely with people waiting for 'Ohana. It will be difficult to get seating.

Kids are welcome almost anywhere but getting a seat will be nearly impossible. There are just a few tables and bar seating. Can you go at an “off” time? Also avoid any time a sporting even is on. Tambu is a popular place to watch a game.

Thanks for the reply. In that case, can we get the pudding to-go? We are staying in a studio which I know that there will be some paper plates in the cabinet, just gotta borrow a tray from Capt. Cooks. Crazy idea I know! But we really miss the bread pudding but don't care about the full meal of 'Ohana.

Hi, what's the best time to go for us to have table? I've heard that they don't start serving until 4 to 4:30?

There isn't really "tables" in the Tambu lounge. It's more of benches and chairs with little end table like tables scattered around. There aren't any traditional tables.

I'd say grab a table before they start serving (not sure what time that is). I would assume you could get food to go, though I've never done it.

Actually, at least in the past, you couldn't get anything to go. I tried :(

However, I will say I've gotten there before between 4:30 and 5 after going to Trader Sams and didn't really have a problem finding a seat. Maybe I was just lucky though.

If you really want it to go and you have your own containers/plates to put it on, there should be no reason you couldn't do this. You still might be able to find a seat or two. We just ate there in December (we are a family of 3) and had a 6:30 pm reservation. We had no problem finding a couch and chair to sit on in the waiting area by Tambu.

We've always taken our bread pudding to go, on what ever plates they are served on when we stay at the Poly. We bring them back as soon as we are finished.

I've always asked. I've always been told it was no problem. Last time I was there was August. We usually order two bread puddings and bring them to our room. :)

I have not tried this at Poly but it’s been my experience in general (and at Royal Pacific at Universal) that hotel bars have no problem with you taking glassware or plates back to your room. I always ask as well. They usually either ask you to bring it back or say that housekeeping will take care of it.

It makes total sense. You can order room service anyways, so there should really be no difference.

With Tambu Lounge there are some low tables that you could eat at. Another option which we cant wait to do again is to order room service dinner from Ohana. 1 room service dinner easily feeds 2! Not sure if bread Pudding by itself could be ordered fro room service.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, but we really don't care about the rest of 'Ohana especially we now live in Southeast Asia and can get similar food for way more affordable prices. However, the bread pudding is out of this world!
