Tambu Lounge Info

Can anyone give me more information on the Tambu Lounge at the Poly please? I read in a dining review that they have Ohana bread pudding, so I of course need to go there! It seems like a good substitute for Ohana since the only ADR we can get so far is 9:50 pm. The menu sounds pretty good, and also less expensive too. Where is it located in relation to Ohana? Is it on the same floor? Is it usually pretty crowded? Should we try to get there right when it opens at 5:00? We'll be a party of 4. It's ok to bring kids, correct? We'll have a 4 year old with us. Any information/feedback is appreciated!

The Tambu Lounge is located right next to the entrance to 'Ohana. I can't address food items as we've only gone for beverages. I don't see how they could restrict families with children since it's an open area and there would really be no way to prevent anyone from accessing it.

We stayed at the Poly a few weeks ago and there were kids sitting in the lounge area of Tambo. But there's only about 4 small tables with lounge style chairs around them and then the bar. So hopefully one will be open for you.

Every time I've been to Ohana, the lounge area outside the restaurant has been absolutely mobbed with people waiting around to be called for their reservation, so if you actually want to eat or drink there, how are you supposed to get a seat when it's full of people not eating or drinking?

Tambu actually opens earlier in the afternoon-- I feel like we've been there at 3 or so and have easily gotten a seat. It definitely gets mobbed once Ohana patrons show up. It bugs me, too, that people waiting on ADRs will sit there taking up prime real estate without ordering anything.

Tambu Lounge opens from the early afternoon, but I've also read on several sites that food is not available until 'Ohana opens because they share a kitchen.

Thanks for all the info! Sounds like maybe we should try to get there around 5:00, when Ohana first opens, is that right?
