Tally of Operations Designed or Changed Possibly Due to Abuse

Photopass sharing. Pretty sure that's what some people do to save money. Pretty sure Disney doesn't approve of it, therefore I'd call it dishonest.
Disney has said that it is illegal so not only dishonest but against the law.
So how long until Disney changes PhotoPass to account for PhotoPass Sharing?

Why is photopass sharing looked down upon? Because of buying the CD from it?

Photopass is free until you buy a photo right?

The intention is clearly for different families to each pay the $100? for a CD of their photos. I'm pretty confident they didn't intend unrelated families to pay $20 (or so) each for a CD of their photos.

Oh ok - unrelated families I could see - but I don't see the harm of related families putting photos on the same photopass......

My cousins and my family will be having a family vacation of sorts at WDW next year. If we were to do this - we'd probably put all the together photos on one pass. But then again - I take what seems to be 8 million pictures already - so I doubt we'd buy the CD - probably just buy individual photos.......

Indeed. The issue is almost surely just with respect to unrelated families.

I have only taken advantage of the free dining once an my son and grandson were with me, but not during check in. We never had a problem.
I have done the dining plan other times when I had a group with me and we were staying at my DVC. I did have some problems because you have to pay for the dining plan for the entire time you are staying. My sister came to stay for the weekend but I had to pay for her for the entire 5 days.
I wound up using her other meals with other family members during that week. One of my sons is a big eater and he would go out and get a meal at around 11 pm at DTD. Other times we changed one of the table service to counter service and had bfst, lunch and dinner on those days. I never had to have all the people who checked in with me but then again, I was paying for the meals. We had a few extra snacks and we wound up getting boxes of donuts or cookies and packing them for home.
I had heard that they closed the 15th and 2nd floor for viewing the fireworks at CR because a few years ago a CM committed suicide from the 15th floor and landed on the 2nd floor in front of guests. This happened a few days before a guest got drunk and drown in Bay Lake while staying at Grand floridian.

I'm not sure how this one never made the list...

Previously, small hamburgers were a common choice for child meals in many eateries. However, many folks speculate that because so many adults have ordered child meals in the past, Disney has continually "dumbed down" the child meals, to make them less and less palatable to adults. That's why, they say, that so many fewer eateries offer (small) hamburgers as a child meal choice, as they had in the past: because adults would insist on ordering it for themselves either to prevent "waste" or to save money, or both.

WRISTBAND DISTRIBUTION ENDING

SEPTEMBER 7, 2008

Disney is eliminating the wristbands which have been in use for Disney Resort guests wishing to take advantage of evening Extra Magic Hours. Disney Resort guests will need to use their Resort ID's as proof of eligibility starting September 7.

Interesting. I'd heard that they were looking to change things up since the EMH Wristbands seemed to be getting abused.
I bet this was caused by people cheating and abusing the system to get wristbands when they weren't entitled to them.

The California Grill ADRs are free?
Yes, It is free to make the reservatoin. They will hit your CC only if you are a no show. You have 24 hours in advance to cancel. Generally, unless you are involved in a dire emergency, most folks know 24 hours in advance whether or not they will be able to keep a reservation.

Word is that the new strollers for rent at the Magic Kingdom are significantly smaller than the old strollers. I wonder if this can be attributed to folks over-stuffing strollers in the past.

Thanks to Lewisc for pointing this one out...

This may be old news, but I was told that it was only instituted at WDW a couple of weeks ago - There is now a $5 per package handling fee if you have something delivered to one of the resorts.

I ordered two cases of water from Staples for our trip last week, and they tried to charge me $10 ($5 per case) when they brought them to my room. I refused to pay it because I had not been notified of any charge, had not read about it here and had never been charged this fee before. The CM was kind of sheepish, and she waived the fee without an argument. She said that Disney now has an outside company handling all of its packages, and that the fee was not announced.

It did not apply to my Owner's Locker or scooter from Walker Mobility, so I guess it applies only to packages mailed or sent by UPS or FedEx.

Just a warning to those of you that like to send stuff to yourselves at the resorts.

I think that there are at least two reasons why the Sky Ride was taken down. First of all, it wasn't very efficient, had limited capacity per hour and required more CMs per guest. Secondly, there were people throwing things below at guests. I remember talking to a couple of CM's who were disgusted by kids spitting from the Sky Ride.

I think it would be tough to regulate parking at Downtown Disney because they really do depend upon local customers to visit as well as out of town guest.

in california there were two reasons i read about for closing the sky buckets: some goof jumped out one day, into a tree in fantasyland, then tried to sue saying he had fallen out of a faulty door, and because it was not accessible.

The time limit for parking at the monorail resorts for non-guests comes to mind. I'm sure lots of people parked at the CR, Poly and GF just so they could take the monorail to MK or Epcot and not pay for parking. I'm not sure when they instituted the limit, but nowadays I believe it's 3 hours max if you're not a guest.

I just parked at the Contemporary two weeks ago because I had a dinner reservation. The person at the gate didn't ask where I was dining or give me any kind of parking permit, just let me in after looking at my driver's license. Is that the way they usually do it? I'd heard about the 3 hour limit so I was a little worried, in part because we thought we might take more than 3 hours, but it was no problem and the parking lot on that side (MK side) was almost empty.

it was a year ago, but we had reservations at jiko, and we were stopped and asked if we were staying there (at akl), i said we had dinner reservations, and we were given a piece of paper to put on the dashboard, with the three hour end time on it. it was during super soap weekend, so maybe during especially busy events or during peak they do this.

I think you're right; it was pretty slow that night and the MK closed at 7:00, so there was little to be gained from parking there.

on behalf of those who are staying in the resorts with an especially good parking location or access to the parks, i don't have a problem with this policy. it is frustrating to pay $300 per night upwards to stay in a deluxe resort only to have trouble finding a convenient parking spot. the inter-park/resort transportation is already free and very efficient, and i have experienced cast members going out of their way to accommodate our need to go from one location to another (animal kingdom was closed, but a bus dropped us there for some reason..i think we were on an event bus by mistake  . the cast member at the little transportation-guy house came out, asked where we were going, and a few minutes later a private bus arrived to transport us. it was very disney.)
