We decided to drive to WDW this trip & want to stop 1/2 way for us. Anyone have a recommendations for where to stay just overnight off of I-10? Just want a safe, decent place. Not trying to make a vacation out of it.

Check reviews first , there is a terrible amount of drug crime , car crime and shootings .. make sure there are no college events going on because you won’t find a room .

I had us booked at the Courtyard Marriott off I-10, but we recently decided to drive to Gainesville instead. It had decent reviews and we are Marriott members.

I have stayed at Staybridge suites east of Tallahassee just off I 10 multiple times. Not many restaurants nearby so eat before you arrive. Clean, fairly new and a beautiful lake on the property. Easy on and off to interstate.

This would be the only one I would try . IF it’s not sports or grad season , it’s grad season now .

I stayed in the Hampton Inn in the I-10 and Hwy 379 area last year for work. The area felt safe, it was convenient to the interstate and there were plenty of restaurants in the area.

It’ll be in July so college stuff won’t be an issue. What about Hampton Inn off I-10 by Raymond Diehl Rd? It says Hampton Inn Thomasville. We have stopped at that exit almost every trip just never stayed overnight. Seemed safe enough.

Gainesville a little too far for us this trip with a 14 month old! Tallahassee is probably pushing it, but we’ll try. Have you ever stayed 1/2 way before? Any other ideas of places? We aren’t committed to Tallahassee just seemed like a close enough 1/2 way point.

We drove straight through last time, but we can’t this time. My husband has to work a half day on the day we leave.

We thought about staying near Destin at first, but we’d like to be as close as possible. I’m worried about traffic and don’t want to get up too early on 7/4.

It’s a long drive from Pensacola to Tallahassee as it sounds like you know. We would like to stay in Pensacola or at the beach further east but it always seems a hassle to get off I 10.

We thought about destin to make maybe 2 mini vacations out of it, but since it’s not right off I-10 we thought the least amount of time in the car the better lol! We usually always drive straight through & even did with DS this past Thanksgiving. But he was much easier to entertain then lol! We had flights booked, but I think it’ll be even more of a hassle dealing with the airports.

Yeah I thought about that & the drive to Pensacola would be easy but to WDW from Pensacola would be too long.

Someone needs to build a hotel between Pensacola and Tallahassee near I10 for us, if possible a bit closer to the Tallahassee side.

This is a Holiday Inn Express directly on I10 in a nice Tallahassee neighborhood should you choose to go that far. Ton of restaurants and shopping.

We used to drive from NW Louisiana to WDW and would usually stop at Live Oak, about 90 miles east of Tallahassee. It has maybe three or four hotels, a couple of restaurants and gas stations. But they are all near I-10 so you can get up early and head on down the road. When we stopped in Tallahassee, we always avoided the downtown area because it is so hard to get on and off I-10. When you get to the east side of Tallahassee, the hotels are further from the interstate.

There is a Comfort Inn just down the road from the capital building in Tallahassee. I've stayed there several times. Nice, clean and reasonable.

We stopped in Marianna a few times, also Quincy or Chipley
