How long would you expect to wait in line for Talking Mickey on a busy Saturday (EMH) night?

I really don't know, but I'd be surprised if it was more than 30-40 minutes though. Anyone have any better advice for this noob? ;)

Not sure if serious, or....

Touringplans has waits at 15-20 minutes all day on July 4th, which is open until 1am and a level 10 crowd day. I checked a few other days and it seems to have the same wait times predicted. YMMV.

:rotfl:

I'm pretty sure we wouldn't try if it was that long. But we haven't seen talking Mickey yet, so I'm hoping we find an easy way to do this. Maybe I should swap my 7DMT FP for this one? ;)

Are you planning on going to Mickey during the EMH hours, or during regular park hours just on a night that's an MK EMH night?

That's encouraging. :)

I don't know yet. He's sort of low on the priority list. If we're back in Tomorrowland or Frontierland, I probably won't be able to talk anyone to coming back to Town Square just to see him during the EMH hours. Our goal is to stay through the end of EMH though.

We have a FP for Wishes and will likely head to Adventureland after. I'd love to see him after that before heading to Tomorrowland, but a lot of that is going to depend on traffic after the second MSEP. Maybe we can finish in Adventureland and get back across Main Street and see him before the parade gets going and all those people scatter.

Mickey was one of the ones that was weird on our trip. The wait time posted was 40 mins, but visually looking at the line there were only a handful of people standing in the velvet ropes section that you see when you walk in. The CM standing in the middle at that point (b/w the Mickey ad Tink lines) specifically said the wait was more like 10-15 mins. With the reports I've heard of posted wait times being inflated, combined with what the cm told me, was like "oh, great! It'll be shorter than that.". It wasn't. It was the full 40 min wait just to get into the M&G room (before actually meeting Mickey) While there were only a few people in front of me standby, the SB line stood still for long periods of time while FP+ holders entered (there weren't many FP people in line when I entered either, which is why I thought it really was a short line. Many FP+ entered the line soon after I did).

In contrast, I went in SB to see Tink right after Mickey, and it only took 10-15 mins to get in to her actual M&G room.

If at all possible, I would probably try to see Mickey during EMH (maybe on your way out of the park) when FP+ won't be a factor in the line.

Mickey was the only attraction for which we've had a significant delay with FP+. Posted SB time was 35 minutes. We waited nearly that long with FP+. I was pretty miffed.

That's really helpful feedback AA! Thanks. :)

At least I bumped it, right?

::yes::

Looks like you might have been closer than you thought on the wait times too.

I'd be pretty miffed about that too.

I'll try to stop looking at this as a potentially quick in and out if we just hit the right time. I should have figured with the novelty of the interaction the line would move like molasses.

Is he guaranteed to talk now? Because we went last June and the CM couldn't guarantee that we'd get talking Mickey and, sure enough, there was no talking when we got to him. My kids were really bummed.

Nothing is guaranteed. He could lose his voice at any time, but I believe the goal is that Mickey (at this location) talks to everyone.

Since he's started talking, his waits have increased quite a bit. From personal experience/opinion, the interaction with Mickey between each group has increased, since he can now do more stuff, being able to do card tricks, or sing happy birthday to a guest. His line does move pretty slowly if you don't have a FP for it.
I can't imagine his waits being too long, since many guests seem to gravitate towards Fantasyland and Tomorrowland during EMH's.
Maybe do Mickey during the beginning of EMH? That would be my personal strategy/opinion.
How about trading that 7DMT for a Stitch FP instead? ;)

Mickeys line is always short why does no one like he mouse!

I just hate that horrible magician outfit...

Talking Mickey was really cool. But, I would not change a 7DMT FP+ for it. Could this be a 4th FP+ possibility right before EMH?

I don't think we want to do this - anyone think it's creepy??
