Talking Mickey on a busy EMH night

I don't think we want to do this - anyone think it's creepy??

It might be. But I think I want to see for myself before deciding.

We saw talking Mickey last fall. Our whole family thought he was creepy. Very robotic canned preplanned interactions. Some of the smaller kids in front of us did not get why he was not really answering the specific questions they asked. That said, mom2rtk, you need to see him for yourself! Some people do love him, and even if you don't he is something interesting to watch at least once. We were the last family that was let into the room before they shut the door, so we got to see him interact with several groups.

Are you going during party season? His line was really short during MNSSHP when we were there last year. We waited about 5 minutes. He did have his costume on, so assuming that doesn't change, if you are looking for the regular Magician outfit you would have to do that another time. During the day as others have said, it is very hit and miss. A lot of times it is only about 10 minutes, but sometimes it gets up to 30 to 50 minutes. I would bet that later in the evening during EMH it would be pretty short. A lot of the littles will have gone to bed. There are still a lot of adults that want to see him, but it shouldn't be too bad. I am betting with your Disney skills you will find a time to meet him where you only have to wait 10 minutes or less.

I didn't find him creepy, just weird. A kid in the group before us had a birthday button on and got the whole big birthday treatment. My son, who turned 5, so he's still totally all-in on the Disney Magic, also had a birthday button on so when it was our turn, ran up to Mickey and pointed it out. Mickey said something like, "Hi, pal, that's pretty neat" and then proceeded to ask him what kind of animal he liked best (or something strange and random like that). EDITED: I remembered what it was...he asked the kids to roar like a lion! All four of us were pretty, "BUH?" about it. It was like Mickey had used the "birthday spiel" track and so the next track had to be totally different. But we'd think he'd at least have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"in reserve or something. Instead, talking to Mickey is like talking to a fortune teller or a politician...they'll speak in generalities and won't directly answer the questions they're asked. ;)

So between the long wait even with FP+ and the weird interaction, I think we were totally turned off to the whole thing.

we did not think it was creepy at all in fact on our first trip ever in November 2014 this was one of the most memorable interactions that we had with a character. Loved it and cannot wait to do it again.

It's not creepy. But it did spoil a bit of the magic for my DD. Not that she didn't know the characters weren't real at that point, but Talking Mickey put her over the edge. A mute, human-sized mouse dressed in human clothes was apparently believable, but talking? Nope! LOL
