Talk to me about your WINE / BEER package

Are there different offerings of wines at Palo / Remy than in the rotational dining ??

We were on the Magic last month. During a wine tasting, I asked the sommelier if you could order from the Palo wine list in the MDR. The answer was yes, just ask your assistant server for a copy of the Palo wine list. We did just that, and each night after we had both the MDR and Palo wine lists waiting for us when we got to our table.

Just wanted to point out that the DISboards have an edit function. You can always edit your post when you detect a typo after posting. :goodvibes Just hit "Edit" in the left bottom corner of your own post.

And unlike on cruise critic, there is not (that I've encountered) a time limit on how long you have! :)

So rookie cruiser here and who enjoys wine, while DH does not. what is the price range for glass of wine?

I've always ordered the wine package but this time around I'm hesitating. I looked at the premium wine list and the MDR wine list posted above and the wine offerings are different. I am seeing some wines on the premium wine list (e.g. Red Conundrum, California) that are not on the MDR list and of course the MDR list has a larger selection of wines. Sooo, if I order the premium wine package does that mean I CAN NOT order a bottle from the MDR list? And conversely, if I do NOT have the wine package I can NOT order a bottle from the premium wine package list?? And if I have the wine package I can NOT order a bottle of wine from Palo in the MDR? (There's one we really like).

First thing to keep in mind, the wine list I posted was from a European cruise in 2015. What you actually see on your cruise could vary. As for being able to order wines off of the MDR/Palo/Remy list if you have the wine package - yes you can - at an added cost. It would be completely separate from your wine package. We have done this before. For example, on a 7 night cruise you can buy a 4 bottle package and then order off the regular wine list for the other nights, just paying by the bottle as you go for those.

At the end of the day, Disney will be happy to take your money for whatever combination of wine you wish to purchase! :rotfl2:

You can have a wine package and supplement it with other wines, both as full bottles and by the glass, independent of dining location. I routinely order a bottle from the Palo wine list when we dine there, even though I might have bottles left on my typical three or four bottle package. Your assistant server should be happy to provide you with whichever wine lists you need to make selections in the MDRs. On our recent WBTA (11 nights), the wine menu on the table for the first night was a 12-bottle package. I asked to see the "other" listing with the 3-, 4-, and 7-night packages. The packages are really a bottle count, rather than being tied to the number of nights for the cruise. I almost always spread a bottle over two nights, and will order a 3- or 4-bottle package on the first night, even for the longer cruises. This gives me access to all of the wines on the list at the tier I've ordered (usually the premium list, but I have done the basic package on an occasion). Then I can add a wine by the glass if I decide I really "need" a dry white with my appetizer when I'm working on a bottle of red wine that will go well with my entree. I've even been known to order a draft beer using my mug card if that's my fancy on a particular night, particularly on a day when I did a beer tasting in the afternoon. Your assistant server can access the wine lists for the MDR, including wines by the glass as well as bottles, the various multi-bottle packages, and even the Palo list if you ask. Otherwise, you might only see one list on the table after you've done a wine package, but that will not prevent you from ordering from one of the other wine lists.

Thanks. It seems the wine package list I was looking at (on the Disney Gifts and Amenities webpage) is an old list. I found a newer list and all the wines on the package ARE also listed on the MDR wine list. So, that solves my confusion! LOL.

FYI I never found the ship that big that I couldn't head over to my room to grab a beer from the fridge. If OP is not a big drinker it's not like they'll be doing it 4 times in an afternoon.

hubby and I bought beer mugs on a cruise years ago. I think you get 20oz of draft for the 16oz draft price. We exchange our empty mug for a token/card to carry around. We keep the card to take from cruise to cruise (no need to pack and carry the mug). I think the initial mug was $18 and to refill is $6-$8.

I also think there is a buy 6 get the 7th free on bottled beers. We never did this, but I saw people with 7 beer buckets. I think there may be a card or tab for this also so you can accumulate the 7 beers over a few days.

We also carry on 2 6 packs. we drink those in our room while getting ready for dinner.
