Before today, I had one single black ink pad, that I have used a few times to ink edges. I went back to the Bazzill warehouse sale and they had their inks, packs of 3 monochromatic colors, for $1.50. So now I have 18 different colors, and I need to know how to use them.

So if you have a project that you are very happy with, or a website with project ideas, I'd like to know about them. Especially, inks in different colors than black or brown.

I'd love to know how to use those stamp ink pads too...thought about getting some stayzon for stamping onto transparencies....

Hey - where was this sale ? What an awesome price for the inks! Does this sale occur more than once a year - I may have to plan a "trip" for the next one :rotfl:

I dabble in stamping, so I am not really qualified to answer your question but thanks for the sale update - what else did you find?

I don't stamp much, but I got a card making stamp mag at CKC, and it had enough stapming and card ideas in it to last me forever...The stamping was amazing. I really liked using clear stamps, and got a few there too.

I love inking around the edges of things. It gives depth, and a totally different finish to things. I got some great ink chalks at CKC. They are really soft looking.

I honestly don't have many colors. The ones I have I use for "antiquing". I use a scrap piece after I finish, and try different colors to see what I like best.

Close to my Heart sells a 3 pack of "dabbers" or something like that. you put one on your fingertip and then dab into the ink, then dab onto the edge of the paper for an soft-edged look. it's very easy and adds alot, IMO

they are very inexpensive too

The Bazzill Basics Warehouse sale is held every Septmeber, the same weekend as the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Phoenix. Their warehouse is in Tempe, AZ. It's mostly paper, as that is what they mostly sell. They have a lot of overstock and discontinued colors (or if a color has changed textures they have the old one). They give you a "pizza box" to fill. This year it was $20 for the 12x12, $15 for 8.5x11". I bought 5 boxes (one is KatDisney's :goodvibes ). So $100, and I got about 675 sheets. Scrapbooks Etc. is a LSS owned by the people who own Bazzill and they sell their paper for 50 cents a sheet, so that is $almost $340 worth of paper for $100. Actually, it is at least that because they had some of their "Cardstock with an Edge" which MSRP's at 80 cents. They also had 4 x 6 paper packs for $.80 and 8x8 packs for $1.75

They also had older discontinued embellishments. The ink's MSRP was $7, and they were selling them for $1.50. Fiber packs in monochromatic colors for $1. Square, Round, Star brads for $1 a pack. Eyelets a $1 a pack. Button packs for $1. Chip Toppers for $1 a sheet. Metal alphabets for $.25 a letter. They were selling their Bazzill Blueprints software for $5. Mini Albums for $1-$2 depending on size. Packs of envelopes for $.45-$.95.

It is definitely worth a visit, if you are in the area. I am moving to Denver in March, so I really stocked up, because I don't know if I will ever be able to go again. Although, I keep teasing DH that we could fly down just for the day, and fill up empty suitcases.

Sadly I don't think our trip to DCA in 2009 will coincide:rotfl:

I miss all the good sales!

Inking is adictive. I love to add a little splash of coordinating color to the edge of my projects. Just hold the stamp pad in one hand and run the edge of the project along it. I like to use a color that coordinates with something else on the page. Just to tie things together.
