I hate feeling all weighted down at DL of all places, I really want my hands free. I will have a stroller or two to hang a bag on and also will rent a locker for the bigger things. I'm also mildly paranoid about leaving stuff out on the stroller while we're on the rides.

Backpacks seem like a hassle because you'll have to take them off for each ride. Messenger bags feel like they're strangling me. I guess the best option is a fanny pack? What do you guys use for carrying personal items around the park? Mostly just for my wallet, hotel key, bandaids, wet wipes, chapstick, camera...you know, the necessities.

I'd love some recommendations. Thanks.

Well, if you follow this link

you will the bag I use. It's called a cross body bag and I love it. I do wear it across my body and it holds my cell, my camera, my lip gloss (all in the front pocket) my hat in the back pocket and lanyards, pins and a water bottle in the center pocket. I put my wallet in the center pocket too, it's got a zipper pouch that I use for that. I love it, it's super cute and totally functional! I sell Avon so I bought it from me. :)

I have a little purse I got from LL Bean but when i went to their website I didn't see it so I guess they don't sell it anymore. It's only about 6-7 inches square and I wear it across my body. I keep it on for the rides since I can just move it to the side of the restraints. I also have a Baggalini messenger bag but I only bring that to but DS's stuff in. It hangs on the stroller and then when we park the stroller we just grab it and take it with us. Sometimes we leave things like water bottles in the stroller since it wouldn't be the end of the world if they got taken but everything important goes with us.

Oh and Pixie, that bag is really cute. Don't tempt me with stuff like that!

I use a fannypack and it works great. I don't have to take it off for any of the rides or anything.

It's also night because it doesn't get heavier as the day goes on. When I'd wear a purse cross body or wear a backpack...it would seem really heavy and uncomfortable by the end of the day.

I have a MoNkeY backpack that i've used for years.:goodvibes

:offtopic: Avon started carrying some reaLLy cute things about 5 years ago. They have great spokesmodels in salma hayek and reece witherspoon also lauren conrad. Throughout the year I buy houseshoes and pjs from there as they are often disney themed. They also have really cute custom boxed watches.. my nephew looks for one from us under the tree every year.
And NooooooooooooooooooooOOOoooo ...i don't sell avon. A lady at my husbands office does..and sends the little books home with him.

We take a medium sized bag called an Ameribag. It is bean shaped and a backpack. It isn't very big so taking it off to go on the rides is no big deal. We carry the essentials - a bottle or two of water, snacks, lip stuff, sunscreen . . . We really like our bag. My SIL saw it the first time we all went together and the next time we all went, she had purchased one for herself.

I, too, carry a baggellini, and I LOVE it. I don't take it off for rides, either; I just slide it around to the side. My favorite part is the little pocket that sits on my chest; it's the perfect place to keep cash, credit cards, and park tickets.

I use this small messenger bag/purse by Jansport:

http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Jansport-Jansport-8-Track-Messenger-Bag

It's small enough that I can wear it as a purse over one shoulder but the shoulder strap is adjustable and it can be made longer to wear as a messenger bag too which is helpful on rides. It's a pretty simple bag with one main compartment and a small pocket on the front where I keep our AP's and FP's...Both areas have nice, secure zippers which gives me peace of mind since my wallet, camera and anything of value goes in there.

For bigger stuff like snacks and waters we just use a backpack (DD gets a new bookbag each year so there are plenty laying around). The backpack stays in the stroller at all times and I just grab the small purse when we leave the stroller parked and it's always worked out really well :)

I carry a bagg. When I got mine last fall, there was a sale somewhere online that someone had posted. I got mine for under $30. Here is a link to the design, and yes, mine is lime green. http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/mes..._nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=18644 I don't usually take it off on the rides. I twist it so that it sits on the seat beside me.

Do those bags hang loosely or are they snug against the chest?

I use that crazy Buxton bag that’s on the infomercials. Well the one I have is a knock off and I got it at Marshalls. I love it. I usually have a hard time wearing bags across my shoulders because they make my shoulder hurt, but this one I don’t have a problem with at all. I can fit 2 water bottles in. I also keep a little bottle of lotion, hand sanitizer, chap stick, our camera, my cell phone, and some sun screen. DBF holds in the FPs and APs in his wallet. I just push it forward on my lap when I go on rides.

I did do a fanny pack on my birthday trip last year. It was fine, but it was a little cramped. I could fit a water bottle in it, but that was pretty much it.

Kerri, that bag is really cute!! :)

I got a mini backpack at Walmart that I love. It has drink holders on the side for my water bottles so I can keep them away from my camera and other items in case they leak or sweat in the heat. I like the mini because I can carry it easily on one shoulder but put it all the way up on my back if my shoulder gets tired.

I used to use a fanny pack only - but my new camera doesn't fit :(

They are adjustable, so you can have them however you want them. I've found with mine that if I want it tighter, I have to adjust it fairly often because the adjustment. .. thingy.... tends to slide down, but I love the other features of the bag so much it doesn't even signify.

I wanted to add that the other pocket on the Bagg that I love is the one that opens on the back of the bagg. It sits against your back when you're wearing it, so it's a perfect place to put your wallet. No one is sneaking in there without you being aware of it.

I use one of those water bottle straps for my water. (Does DL sell them? I got mine at Animal Kingdom.) My husband and I take turns wearing it. So my fanny pack fits everything I need (which isn't much.)

I just feel like that big bag would get very hot in the summertime. When I used to wear a backpack, my back would be way too hot. I feel that would be the same thing except on the front.

I carried a baggalini messenger for our last trip and really liked it. I got it from bagsbuy.com :
http://www.bagsbuy.com/baggallini-mes160-messenger-bagg/121602/285133 It's cheaper there right now, than on ebags, plus it's free shipping. Last fall they had a discount code which was "save10" which took $10 off, but I don't know if that still works.

It's not very big like a regular backpack, but it easily held everything we needed. That little pocket in the strap that is right over your chest is just the right size for your cellphone, which is what I used it for. I could feel it vibrate when I got a new message from DH about where he was, etc. You can adjust it to hang loose or close to your body, but for me it was more comfortable hanging snug, since that distributed the weight better for my back. It was really good for rides because I could just slide it to the side, or even just slip the strap down over my shoulder so it was around my waist for rides with a tight restraint bar. Much easier than taking it on and off. Here's a couple of pics:

My periwinkle ripstop nylon messenger bagg, with my lime green mickey mouse heads on it and a few treats from the Hunny Pot:

I agree! Personally, I like my bagg loose, but it can be adjusted however you want it! I put my wallet in the pocket against the back, and I put my APs and my dd birth card in the front pocket on the strap for easy access. My dd likes to wear her Cinderella dress in, but she is almost as tall as me! The last time we went, security questioned me about her age. She was kind of curt. I told her I would be happy to show her the birth card. She backed off right away. I have a different bagg that I carry closer to home. It doesn't have as much space for stuff, but I like that everything is handy at the front, and I have my hands free for the kids. Here is the link for that one. http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/uptown_bagg_crinkle_nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=107614 I have to say that I was a person that would buy new purses all the time. I saw the picture of a new small messenger type bag that is being sold at DLR or WDW with 09 on it, but it doesn't even appeal to me anymore. The two baggs that I have are all that I need!

Oh, I'm glad you posted pictures so she could see the size :)

Also, I am super jealous of your pretty periwinkle bagg! I got a black one because I figured DH would carry it if it was black, but he still refused.
