Hey everyone! DH and I just took our first trip to WDW this month and are already planning our second trip. We are looking at February or March 2009. Could anyone shed some light on to March?? Special things going on, Crowd levels, best weeks to go, ect???

Hi,

The period from Mid-March through Mid-April is loaded with Spring Breakers from various locations!

We will be spending 7 days at SSR. This is our first trip in March and will be over Easter break (3/19 - 3/27) so I would love to hear from anyone that could give me an idea what to expect (other than huge crowds) as well.

We've gone in March MANY times... the key is to avoid Easter and Spring Break crowd... Easter fluctuates every year and the school breaks often move as well. I'd avoid the week before and the week afetr Easter FOR SURE, as they are among the busiest times. Also, do a Google search for websites that list spring breaks for the biggest schools in the country, and avoid the weeks that seem to be most popular. This year Easter falls at a tough time...

In past years we've had pretty managable crowds in March, by adhereing to the guideliens I just stated. We've going in May this year though, as the timing just worked better for us.

Good Luck!

We went last March (mid-March) for our Spring Break and expected heavy crowds. While it was busy - it was not unmanagable. We are planning a trip for the latter half of Spring Break this year which is March 17-21 in parts of Alabama.

We are going to be at SSR as well and we were there last year as well! It is fun! In the afternoon they have games for the adults and the kids around the pool. The pool CMs are awsome and really friendly! :goodvibes They are great about getting everyone involved. My DF and DD are very proud of me that I have won the Adult Hula Hoop contest 2 times now! I'm the "Coolest Stepmom Ever"!! according to DD of 10 which is a great compliment! The pool bar line can get a little long at times and I totally reccommend getting a refillable cup at the artists' palate! They cost about $10 or so and are well worth it cause if all you want is a soda/lemonade/water you can avoid the line and just go to the soda fountain!

If you can try and get to the pool earlier inthe am if you are pool people and save your seats before you go to breakfast. The family and I prefer to spend our days at the pool and our evenings at the parks because of the crowds during spring break! It is great because this year we are going on the Disney Wonder for a cruise and then we are coming back to SSR for the remainder of our spring break! Love the whole "Welcome Home" vibe of the CM's too!:goodvibes makes me smile! If you are into going to the spa I reccommend making a reservation now since it may be a bit more difficult to get time while you are there!

Also in the evenings they have movies at the pool AND if you find a good group of "Adults" to hang out with the hot tubs are great and still have a good view of the pool where the kids can play!:cool1:

Have a magical time! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

I will be there March 3 - 7 - should I expect it to be busy? :)

We were there at that time last year (1-17 of March) and it was great. Not that many people and beautiful weather ( a bit of rain but it was over in no time) A good time to go, but like other people here says, stay away from the spring break days!!!

I agree with this. It's usually busy during the early part of March but it's quite manageable. This year I'd expect that crowds will build over the second and third weeks of the March for Spring Break and as Easter approaches.

While everyone is referring to Spring break increasing the crowd levels- don't forget that there is a huge conference (which I am going to) the second week in March. It usually draws at least a few thousand. This year they are encouraging participants to bring their families and go to the various theme parks in Orlando. Expect it to be very busy.

Even though I know there will be alot of people, I might even go for a few hours a couple of nights during the week of the conference.

So far our spring break always ends up in March so that is the only time we can go. We'll be there this March 21st to the 29th. Weather is usually great. Yes, crowded, but manageable.
