Talk to me about hotel deals in January

We're local, with our vacation dates set from 1/23 - 1/27.

We're planning on staying at the Pop, and on a pretty tight budget. I am okay with staying someplace else if we are at the same rate. We've stayed at the Pop before, and we've enjoyed it.

Anyone know of cyclical deals, or got a deal on in January the last couple of years, OR know of one that went on?

First of all, you'll be going during Value Season so the rates will be lowest available. If you're "local" that means you can get the Florida resident rate, which is about the best discount available. Right now the lowest price for Florida residents at Value Resorts is $64 plus tax and that's during the summer, so they may go even lower during January, but they haven't posted the 2009 room rates yet. Last year we got a Value Resort room for $59 during January.

Disney is now charging more for weekends (Fri-Sat nights) than during the weekdays, but I'm not sure how much more.

Pop Century is a good choice, although the All Star Resorts (Music, Sports, Movies) also have the same rates as Pop. The advantage of Pop is that it has dedicated bus service and the bus doesn't stop at another resort on the way to or from the parks.

We are always on a tight budget when we go and it sounds like you're going to be able to get a good rate on a resort room, so go and have fun!

I'm not clear on what you are asking. Are you looking for deals off-site?
