Talk to me about dessert viewing parties.... worth it?

My 12 yr old is crowd averse and anxious, thinking this might be a god option to see fireworks/shows without worrying about being crowded. Is it worth it?
I think they're amazingly over priced now but - it a situation like yours where you have a child who doesn't handle the crowds - it may be worth a one-time splurge. I recommend the one where you get to be in the garden as opposed to where you watch from the terrace.

Another option - which we did for the very first time after 20 years of going to the parks - is to watch the fireworks from behind the castle. You don't get the projections but great view of the fireworks and wide open places to watch and sit.

I did the firework dessert parties OFTEN when they were about 1/2 the price they are now. But at the cost today I just can't justify it anymore. However, I had a MAGICAL time watching from the Poly last February. I mobile ordered food at Captain Cookes, took the monorail over, got an umbrella table right outside and they had games for the kids to play with cast members, My husband & I took turns getting treats ( he grabbed the cocktails, I grabbed the Dole Whips) and we were able to really enjoy a relaxing evening and the fireworks. I personally am not a " projections" person. They kind of give me a headache & I HATE crowds, so a little off the beaten path fun for less than 1/4 the cost is just right for me.
