:goodvibes Ok...we're trying to upgrade (if possible) at AKL-club level so we can share a room with our friends in Dec. There's NOTHING available at AKL (I thought we were going during "slow" season) :confused3 The only other thing I can find on line is the Contemperary that $500 more a night!!! :scared1: :scared1: Yes we would ask our friends to pay some (like $100/night) to help with the cost since we're upgrading to include them. Is the Contemperary worth it or should I keep praying and stalking the Disney website and reservation line to hope something comes up at AKL-club level.

TIA :goodvibes

Dec is a busy time due to the decorations.
Where are you booked now?
Rooms are bigger at the Contemporary....sharing a room...that might be a consideration.

Sometimes the Website and CRO have differing availability, so it's good you doing both.
Your other option might be to check over the phone if most of your dates are available, except maybe one at the beginning or end of your visit. That would give you the option to make your AKL Club level reservations, and stay somewhere else for a night.

but would suggest that you really research out all your options because there are so many ways to do Disney accommodations and club level may not seem as important when looking over many other alternatives ( ie there are suite accommodations at Coronado Springs Resort < among others > ).

If a club level experience is priority you may want to look into Swan and Dolphin and see what their offerings are on this level. Although they are not Disney owned they are beautiful resorts & excellent location among the Epcot/Studios resorts and have many of the same benefits staying at a Disney resort offers ( their guests use onsite Disney transportation system too & can attend extra magic hours ).

Also, don't know if you are DVC members, but if not, will what you are willing to spend for the accommodations on this trip be equal to or close to what it would cost to buy a small DVC resale contract ? DVC rooms are larger and deluxe level and although you'd have to pay a maintenance fee on the number of points in the contract each year, the allotment of points you would receive every year equals future trips ( sorry, kinda mixing apples with oranges a bit here but my practical, cost conscious side is screaming don't leave this stone unturned ! )

AKL is way better than CR IMO. CR does have a monorail but feels like a hotel, not a resort. AKL is a testament to architecture and interior design, one of the best I've seen anywhere (and I have lived all over the world).

CR does have very spacious rooms though. December is a slow season? Thought that was one of the busiest.

I think the Contemporary is worth it because of how close it is to the Magic Kingdom, using the Monorail anytime you want, taking the walkway to the Magic Kingdom and because their renovated rooms look amazing.

As much as I would love to stay at the CR, would I pay an additional $500 a night NO Way. How many nights are you staying?
Is it really necessary for you all to stay in the same room? Why not just book 2 standard level rooms or even 2 Savannah view rooms.
To me the amenities at the club level are okay, but sometimes just do not seem to be worth the additional cost.

Swan and Dolphin stopped CL service a while ago. Too bad because we stayed CL @ Swan 2003 on and it was wonderful .....great lounge and food, and wonderful service....sorry its not an option any more.

Call CRO, because some rooms wont show online that are available. I was looking at some different dates and I entered 5 nights, pulled up my choice, bamo room avail, cut trip to 3 nights and the same room wasn't avail, so I called CRO, got what I wanted. I think it has something to do with the wacked out website they have, go figure.
