talk me into the tower of terror...

This...

The most fun was when the car dropped then rose back up and went back down without really stopping. It gave a really cool floating feeling.

...and this...

The worst part of the whole thing is the anticipation of the first time.

I rode with my sister in 1999 and 2004 and agree with both of these comments. My sister said the rising and falling was like being on a yo-yo. I was always anxious before I rode, and came off just giddy and giggling - it's like having a tank of adrenalin plugged into a major artery.

It is about the limit of my "scare tolerance" and I have not ridden on my solo trips - I'd rather have someone with me to call 911 when I have a heart attack (j/k, I think). I won't do RnRC or Space Mtn and am still trying to talk myself into trying EE, so if you like the coasters, you'll probably do great on ToT.

Hi, the way I did it was to close my eyes when the doors opened, just before the drop so I couldn't see how high we were.:scared1: I also made sure I was sitting next to my husband so I could hold on to him during the drops . its now my most favourite ride, I even have my eyes open throughout the ride, although my hands still sweat every time I ride it lol. Go for it you wont regret it.

One time when we rode there was an older gentleman, would guess maybe in his 80's or 90's with a zimmer frame ! he was walking so slowly that everyone was walking around him, as we passed him I thought OMG this ride is going to give him a heart attack. We got on the ride before him so we waited by the photos as we just had to see the look on his face, it was fantastic I would describe it as a look of shock, happiness and a sense of achievement along with a tick off the bucket list :worship:

It's a contender for best attraction on property. The theming inside the hotel lobby is amazing, the little pre-show video is very entertaining, the effects at the beginning of the ride are cool, and the drops are just too much fun. :earsboy:

I do not like TT. I don't like dropping. I knew this when I went on it, but it's too cool of a ride to avoid forever. The theming is great. The pre show is also great. For the dropping part, I was very scared and had my eyes closed the whole time.

That said, I'm very glad I went on it. I'm not sure I'd ride it again, but given my anxiety, the ride must be pretty darned awesome for me not to completely dismiss it.

Give it a shot, you might love it. I doubt you'd get nauseous and, the whole queue and everything is worth it, even if you don't like the ride itself.

I love Rollercoasters. Rip Ride, Hulk, Everest. They don't phase me but Tower of Terror does.

Not sure if its the Dark or the story behind it but i shake like a leaf evey time i go to queue for it.

Done it about 5-6 times now

I too love the roller coasters but was nervous about going on TOT. I LOVED it! Definitely try it at least once. I even had to buy a TOT t-shirt because I loved it that much.

My husband and I don't even really love roller coasters, but we DO love Tower of Terror! Like others have stated, it is the "drop" sensation but without all that jarring back and forth that I hate! We usually ride Everest once per trip, we skip space mountain and we skip rock and roller coaster. But we ride TOT over and over again! You will love it!

The first time I rode TOT was a few years back, before I had my eyes fixed. I had to take off my glasses and the ride did freak me out. We rode again a month ago, and I was able to see everything much more clearly and it didn't seem anywhere near as bad. Honestly, I thought it felt more like a bouncy ride, like the old baby bouncer you'd hang in a doorway, than a scary ride. I was screaming "whee" and "woo-hoo" instead of yelling in terror.

My husband hates "drop" rides, but this is his favorite ride at WDW. The theming is great and the randomization makes it a new experience every time!

:thumbsup2

The coasters seem to jerk me around too much the older I get but these drops don't bother me at all. From the theming of the entire experience, the randomness of the drops, the view when the doors open and even seeing those doors open and hearing the screams from the street, this is hands down my most favorite attraction on property.

If you decide not to ride but someone else in your party is going on it, go through the queue with them and ask an attendant to let you out of the building when you get up to the loading area. The pre-show and the boiler room queue area are very cool and you should check them out -- and when my mom and I did that when I was a kid (while my brother rode) we got some gentle in-character ribbing from the bellhop who came to escort us to the gift shop.
