Tales from the TDS 12/8/01 pin Saturday

We were on our last day of our WDW vacation, in Tanpa,(to fly home from there) and went to a store there for the first time. We got there at 8:40 for an unkonw opening time..(I called the night before and was told "I think we're opening at 10", but then someone in line said they were opening at 9--they actually opened a little after 9:30,saying they were not allowed to open early???). Anyway, we were 5th in line, which was surprising, considering all of the regulars thought it was a 9:00 opening. Even more surprising, there were only about 12 or 13 people who showed up at all. Very pleasant.

This store handed out numbers, so, after you got your number, you could leve for coffee or a bathroom break, or whatever. Very convenient. Also, right outside of the store, there was a place for kids, with a movie screen size TV in the wall, showing Toon Disney, tons of child size couches and chairs and tables. My grandkids were thrilled! That's where we waited for store opening. A great experience for fidgety kids.

I got one set of pins, and a Buzz Lightyear voice changer. While waiting in line, I saw the snowglobes on sale for 25% off and grabbed the Sorcerer Mickey one that usually sells for $78.00. I was allowed to get the free Mickey beanie, use the 15.00 off 75.00 snowman coupon, and use my DC discount. When finished, I got the 15.00 toy, the beanie, one set of pins, and the 78.00 snow globe for 88.00, total (including tax). I think I did pretty well and had a very pleasant experience at that store.
